The Story of OF ASIAN DESCENT

Band Story:
The year was 2003 and the band was Deadeyedstare. Seriously, they were THEE band. Until one fateful gig when their drummer was stuck at work and couldn't make that night's show. Rather than cancel the show, the other 4 DES boys played an improvised set of crusty grindccore with DES vocalist Bert Jones jumping behind the drum throne and DES guitarists Mike Butler and Fred Avila switching between vocals and guitar. Zac remained at bass. They named the band Of Asian Descent because "it's a catchy name and Fred looks Asian."
Well anyways, the show went off well and there were huge mosh pits. Nobody believed that they had improvised the whole set. Hell, they had been practicing/ jamming/ having musical fun with Deadeyedstare nearly everyday for a year. Even with a different drummer, they were still a tight musical unit.
A few months later, Mike Butler moved away and Deadeyedstare had a new drummer. Deadeyedstare was the main focus for nearly an entire year until once again... drummer problems. Without a drummer, the Terrible Trio of Bert, Fred and Zac shifted they're focus back to Of Asian Descent and played what was supposed to be the last DES show as of Asian Descent. Only this time they had actual songs.
In between those two shows Of Asian Descent recorded somewhere around 15 songs. Months later, they recorded more songs and put vocals on the old ones. 4 songs were covered and have never been released on any of the CD's they've had at shows. These songs were Sepultura's "Refuse/Resist," Minor Threat's "Filler," Nirvana's "Tourettes" (a live favorite), and "Gone Fishing" by local Stockton punks Three-Day Weekend. The OAD boys took the best songs they had and made an 11 song CD called... 11 SONGS.
Since 2003, Of Asian Descent has managed to play a show a year. No more no less. The year 2007 marked the return of original vocalist Mike Butler. FUCK YES!!!!
