SOAD PROMO MARCH 2005!!
Armed with flyers
and posters
, I walked the streets
ready to spread the word about
THE RAGE STORE (A Head Shop)
I hung up one poster and left about 30-40 flyers. The guy working there asked me about the new album and told me how he couldn't wait to hear it! Several people were in the store and I overheard them talking about how much they liked SOAD. At one point they were discussing the names of the 2 cd's and they couldn't think of the 2nd one so I jumped in and told them.
MOVIE TRADING COMPANY
I only hung up one poster in the entrance window where they had some other 'music posters' up. They didn't have an area to leave flyers.
SMOOTH GROOVE TATTOO
I hung up one poster on the front door and left about 30 or so flyers. The guy working, Josh, said he's heard so many people talking about how they couldn't wait for this album to come out!
THE DEEP END
I hung up one poster on the front door and left about 40 or more flyers in their flyer rack. I turned about 15 of them backward to show the Mudvayne side.
PASSED OUT TO VARIOUS PEOPLE PASSING BY
I hit about 25 or more people with flyers but this was the only guy that would pose for a picture, hehe.
VARIOUS SPOTS IN DEEP ELLUM
I slapped 8 posters on the gondola on Main Street (where it's 'legal' to put posters) I put them all on this way so that I would not cover up anyone else's posters and I thought it made the posters 'pop'. I noticed as I was driving by later that 2 posters had already been snagged! I hit up another area on Main (also known as a 'safe' spot) with 4 more posters and then 2 more posters on the windows of a closed business in between 2 Tattoo shops
CAFE BRAZIL
I hung up one poster and left about 40 or so flyers here. One guy walking out of the Cafe stopped to see what I was hanging and he let me know how he has been waiting forever for this new one to come out!
JULY ALLEY
I stopped in to this bar to see if they'd let me drop off any flyers and they let me put some on the cigarette machine by the front door. I left about 20 of them.
THE CURTAIN CLUB
The door guy, Cody, is always so nice about me doing promotions and he let me leave some flyers on the counter where everyone pays to get in. I left about 40 or so here.
CLUB INDIGO
Club Indigo was the last stop on this night because I ran out of flyers. I left about 30-40 of them, turning a few over to the Mudvayne side for additional promotions.
FRANZINIS
I was at the local pizza shop in Deep Ellum and noticed their 'community board' was full of stuff so they let me hang a poster in a less cluttered area, lol.
2ND TIME IN DEEP ELLUM
I was back in Deep Ellum and saw many of my posters still up except this area, so I tagged it again.
UNIVERSAL REHEARSAL
I know a lot of bands that practice at this rehearsal studio and one of them let me hang my last poster on their door because they're huge SOAD fans!
