I also took flyers to many apartment complexes and plastered them everywhere I could think of, like the mailrooms, laundry mats, club houses, and community bulletin boards.
I hit up areas of Dallas, like Deep Ellum and handed out flyers to people walking around the streets. I left stacks in clubs like Blind Lemon, Club Clearview, Club Indigo, Narobi, The Roca-fella Club, Grafiits, & Moose and Vinni's. I also just hung up some posters around telephone polls and sides of buildings and inside some clubs.
The Taste Of Dallas, which draws out 1000's of people was also on my hit list. I went there with some friends, not even thinking about promoting and once I got there, it dawned on me, HELLO! It was the perfect place. So each of my friends and I grabbed a stack and hit the whole thing. I even left some of the flyers at one of the radio stations set up there. I also attempted to tag cars at the Dallas Black Expo, but my friends and I were asked not to. I hit up record stores as well, whenever I passed by one, I pulled over and asked. Music stores were the most complient and welcomed the extra advertising. I happened upon an elevator that was being renovated and had this written on it and I though it would be a cool place to tag:
Some other places I hit up were Pool Halls, Parking Lots here and there, and just about anywhere it looked like it would be ok to post.
The concert was great and my friends that had helped me promote really enjoyed it as well. Thanks so much Streetwise!!!!!!
