Suzanne Carnes (Lead Vocalist & Mojo Mama)

I was born in the wagon of a traveling show....my mama used to dance for the money they'd throw...papa would do whatever he could. No wait...that's an old Cher song.

Actually I started singing at around age three with my sister. We covered such ditties as "You Are My Sunshine" and "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window" in two part harmony for family and friends. We actually even co-wrote a couple of songs ..."When Jesus Was Born" (written during our early Catholic school years from which we are still recovering) and "I  Was Born In Corn" a kind of mournful midwest miserable chain gang song for 5 year olds.

I would wake up on weekend mornings to hear my dad cranking out Elvis tunes on the old victrola...or record player or whatever it was. I went on to sing in school and church choirs. Was voted "Female Vocalist Of The Year" in high school.

Joined a band when I was a teenager...singing everything from AC/DC to Pat Benatar. First band was called "Voyager". Sang with various bands thru the years most of which you have probably never heard of !

Did a couple of country stints out at  Taylorville and Petersburg Country Opry....came in first in a contest out there and made a "Special Guest Appearance".

Most recently I am very happy to be with Mojo Jones ...a hilarious, talented group of guys!!!!  Thanks for listening!
