Blue Star Rejects started out from edwin coombs and brandon passmore playing around
in a back bedroom of brandon’s house after quiting their other bands to persue more of a
punk sound. After playing almost everday for two months they recruted bass player
Adam Kirby of Paducah, KY. After practicing with Adam for 3 months and only playing one show, they decided it was time for a change. So Adam was out of the band. Now replacing him was former Feds guitarist Jacob Nerney.
Starting in January of 2001 Blue Star rejects started playing shows as much as
possible. Starting with Bowling Green, KY and playing shows in Murray and playing
Paducah, KY at 311 with bands like Anti-Freeze and the el camino. Then in fall of 2001
brandon and nerney left due to the fact that music was just not as important to them
anymore.
Immediatly afterwards, Edwin recruted long time friend Christine Bailey and
Drummer Derek Walker. But soon after, Christine and the rest of the band felt it would be better for her and the band as a whole if she left. So in came bass player Davie Martin of paducah. After writing new material and going over the old songs they started to play shows in benton and paducah, KY with bands like the Dishwashers and Run
Kid Run. Now they feel that they have covered the western KY area and are going to
Broad in their fan basis.
