The Clothing of the Elizabethan Time Period for the women consisted of very basic clothes, because there were not many wealthy people during the time period. In the early days of the Elizabethan Time Period most people wore outfits that covered them completely, the collar of the dress was very high, and the sleeves were very long and the dress near the bottom was more like a cone shape, and the dress was so long you could not see the shoes that the woman was wearing. The head piece for the women was an English version of a french hood. The Clothing of the men of the Elizabethan time period wore jerkins, or vest like shirts. They wore pants and they were usually loose and as long as the knee, or just a little shorter. The shoes the men wore were usually leather. They wore hats which was made of silk.
