"Hey Daddy" Treatment By Tobster Author's Note: This is my concept of the music video for Hey Daddy. The best way to imagine it is to read this and then play the song and read it again. It's weird and it's definitely fucked up. Consider yourself warned. Another Note: Everything happens in a sort of slow and dazed manner. *Beginning chords* Jonathan, dressed in his gothic coat/dress, leans on the glass that surrounds him. Then the camera proceeds to zoom out, revealing that Jon is trapped inside a glass ball. Then the zoom out goes further, and when it stops, the camera shows that Munky, dressed in black, is sitting, leaning against a wall, in a square room without windows and doors and is completely white. Munky then hesitantly looks down on the small glass ball with Jon inside that was next to him. *Let me see.* The glass ball suddenly shatters. Jonathan, like water, seeps through the broken glass and solidifies in front of Munky. They exchange glances. *Life has been.* A microphone on its stand crystallizes in one of the four corners of the room. At the same time, a black Ibanez Universe RG (or whatever Munky plays now) appears leaning against the wall right next to Munky. Jon walks over to the mic, picks it up, and brings it to the wall opposite of where Munky is sitting. Munky picks up the guitar by its neck and pushes himself up. *They're waiting.* Jon picks up the mic stand and swings it at the wall. *Help me.* The camera freezes the shot. Then it swings to another room, identical to where Munky and Jon was. *You fuck me up.* The shot unfreezes. Bits and pieces of the wall gathers around the hole that Jon made. Munky and Jon, with guitar and mic stand in hand, walks through the hole. They look around the room and sees Head, also dressed in black. Head slowly looks up. *You pick me up.* Head looks down at the glass sphere, indistinguishable to Munky's. The camera then zooms in on Head's eyes. Through the reflection, the camera shows the ball shattering in the same fashion as Munky's, and Jonathan seeping out. Then the black stream seeps into the existing Jon. *I cannot live without them.* Another black Ibanez Universe RG appears leaning against the wall next to where Head was sitting. Head automatically picks it up as well as getting up himself. *I do not live without them.* Jon raises the mic stand and swings at the wall opposite of the other one he had made a hole in. Just as they make contact, the shot freezes again and the camera swings to yet another identical room. *Hey daddy.* Jon, Munky, and Head, holding their instruments, walks through the new hole in the wall. *They are taking me.* They look around and see Fieldy, dressed in black, sitting against a wall in another room that looks exactly like Munky's and Head's, staring at the newcomers. His glass ball that he has right beside him breaks and Jonathan inside it seeps into the existing Jon. Fieldy's Soundgear bass/K5 (does he still play those?) solidifies leaning against the wall next to Fieldy. *They're eating.* Fieldy picks up his bass while Jon swings at the wall again. *Please help me.* The shot freezes, and the camera swings to another room that is alike with all the other ones. *You fuck me up.* The shot unfreezes and the four-some walks through the hole. There, they meet David, also dressed in black, in a room where it's the same as all the other ones. He has the glass sphere next to him too. And in Jon's presence, it bursts and Jon seeps into the existing Jon again. *You pick me up.* David looks at Jon, Munky, Head, and Fieldy. Drum sticks appeared next to David. David naturally picks it up and gets up from the floor. *I cannot live with out them.* Suddenly, a door melts into view on the wall that they were facing. Jon gingerly opens the door. *I do not live without them.* They walk through the door and are engulfed by the bright light that was behind the door. Different shots of Korn Kids all turned to their bedroom window and staring out of it flashes. It then ends with a shot of a girl wearing a Korn shirt, holding a red rose dripping with blood. *This thing stays inside me.* The camera turns to the streets below the girl's house. Thousands of Korn Kids races through the road. The camera then swings to the left, showing the bright light that the fans were rushing to. *All it does is scream and shout.* The camera closes up on the bright light. A stage then appears in the light slowly and from time to time, the camera shows the fans' eager faces. *They tell me to hurt myself.* David and Fieldy dissolves onto the stage, along with David's drum set and Fieldy's bass in front of them. *They tell me to hurt myself.* Head and Munky also dissolves onto the stage with their guitars. *They tell me to hurt myself.* Jonathan appears onto the stage with his mic stand. The music stops and Jon sings into the mic "But I'm not going to listen." Then the band performs the ending choruses, with clips of the mosh pits in between. *Hey Daddy... They are taking me..* As they are getting near the end of the song, the Korn Kids in the crowd starts to fall onto their knees one by one. They all raise their hands as if to reach up and touch their beloved band. *This demon.* The members of Korn burst into rays of light in the order of David, Fieldy, Munky, Head, then Jon. The camera focuses then on the crowd of Korn Kids all on their knees with their arms reaching up. *Hey daddy.* The camera blurs into white and then becomes focus again, showing Fieldy, Head, Munky, and David without their instruments standing. Then the camera zooms out to show the glass sphere they were trapped in. The camera continues to zoom out, showing Jonathan sitting in a white room identical to the other ones in the beginning of the video, leaning against a wall. Jonathan picks up the glass sphere with the rest of Korn inside and then without warning, throws it against the wall. Glass chips slide down the wall and Munky, Head, Fieldy, and David seeps out and materializes in front of Jon. Head offers his hand and pulls Jon up. They walk toward a wall and disappear into it. The camera then shows the pieces of broken glass surrounded by droplets of blood and rose pedals. Then everything fades and the video ends. |
