All right...I had a shitty night and went to the show at 9 with only 4 hours of sleep. Not fucking cool. I got there right as REVOLUTION SMILE ended...not a big loss there. Motograter came on and I was really into their set. I don't like their studio stuff, but they sounded really good live. They reminded me a bit of MUSHROOMHEAD, but worse. As I said, I was fucking tired as all shit, so I wasn't in the mood to force myself into the music, so the second stage was pretty boring for me. I sat up against the guard rail most of the time, and this is what I learned: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE...overrated.....SHADOWS FALL....bullshit.....SWORN ENEMY.....don't even start, yeah, they suck. Most of the other bands I can barely remember except Nothingface. They weren't terrible, but that dude had throat problems, so they should've been better. I left after SWORN ENEMY and went to THE END. The Jonathan Davis gallery for those who don't know. That damn trailer was better than the music on that damn stage. It was one cool fucking exhibit tho, we've got some pics on the site here, but it's a lot better than it looks. I loved it and spent about an hour in there. Great shit. I returned to see VOIVOD. I should stop before I get started, because they just plain sucked. Second worst performance I've ever seen. The only thing shittier was CRADLE OF FILTH. My god how the fuck can people like them? That dumb shit Danni Filth sounds so bad. All he did was screech the same sound over and over. The only entertaining part of their set was when I saw these two people in front of me. I saw this dude that looked about 15, a short nerdy little fuck with his fat ass girlfriend. They looked like the kind of people you would see sweating at a chess tournament, it was pathetic. And these two assholes were dressed in Cradle of Filth t-shirts. Assholes.
I left about 15 minutes into the COF set and got some water and nachos. Much better than CRADLE OF FILTH. I went to my seats....not bad....front row of the second set of seats. The people on either side of me were two groups of stoners. The dude next to me was pretty cool, especially since he hated the Datsuns. They sucked. Next came CHEVELLE. They weren't bad. The show wasn't exciting, but they sounded all right. A good opening band. Next came MARILYN MANSON. He put on a good show, and the music was good, but it was a bit slow. However, I did enjoy watching him stick a mic up that girl's ass and sing out of it..what great concert doesn't have a guy singing out of a girl's ass? Well, after that, DISTURBED came on. I thought they couldn't possibly beat Manson's set, but they easily did. The home town boys blew everyone away. I used to be really into their music, but not so much as of late, so I wasn't expecting much. They kicked ass though. I love the set, sang quite a bit, they were the beginning of me actually finally getting into the music. Then came the highlight of the night, KORN. I love KoRn, they're my favorite band, but I'd never seen them live before, so this was huge. I went fucking nuts during this set. I sang every word and screamed so much I couldn't talk the next day. They were so damn good. I want to hump Jonathan's leg the show was so fucking great. If there's ever a time where men arouse me, this was it. Korn kicked ass....period. I can't wait to see them live again. Then came the man himself, OZZY. I hate Ozzy, 5 minutes after he went on I left to go see Bad Boys II...I made a smart move.
So that's it, great? No, not even close. Good tho, and KoRn was fucking amazing. That's all I got to say, if you actually read this whole thing, thank you for wasting your time, it makes me feel less pathetic. Later fuckers.
