Chapter 2: Table Views All (This chapter is in 1st person)

Section 1: Matt's View

"Hi, what’s your name?" I said to this fine looking blonde looked at me with her deep blue eyes, I couldn't help but smile! Even though I was having a bad day...

"Amanda, or you can write Mandy." She said with a smile.

"Amanda is too pretty to cut down," I said. I couldn't help but wonder why I had said that! I love Theresa! Even though we are having difficulties, I still have to be the responsible boyfriend. So I turned away and kept signing.

"Thanks" she said with another beautiful smile, and as I picked up my head she was biting her lip in the most .. the most ... there is no describing it! I just couldn't help but smile again.

"Here you go, Amanda." I said as I handed her back her CD so she can get it signed by everyone else. But as she moved down I couldn't help but stare at her, and she was staring at me too.

Clears throat

“Huh?" I said.

"You gonna help me or stare at my friend all day?" a young brunette, about my height, had said with a smile.

"Oh. I'm sorry." I had grabbed her CD and said, "What’s your name?"

"My name is Cecilia. She is Amanda. She is 15, she likes to paint, and she loves Dream Street." she answered.

I couldn't help but look up and smile, and say, "Thanks."

“No problem,” she said, “My name doesn’t begin with an A” she pointed out as I started to write an “A” for the beginning of her name. What was wrong with me?

“I’m so sorry!” I said as I immediately corrected the paper.

“Its aight. The opposite sex can do that to a person,” she said with a smile as she took the CD back. She winked at me and whispered, “I would know!” Forwarding to Jesse (who was the next chair over). But he hadn’t heard her, he was too busy cleaning a mess on the floor that he had just spilt.

As she walked away, another girl walked up to me. “what’s-” I started...

But she had said, “My name is Jennifer” with a smile toward the other side of the table. She wasn’t looking toward me, but I didn’t mind. I signed her name and handed it forward to her hand, she never looked toward me at all, it was as if she was in Frankie Land or something.

“Smile once in a while!” A girl had said in a cute voice, I looked over and smirked.

“Name?”

“Brooke. But you have to smile once in a while, you make me feel wanna cry when your like dat.” she said in a cute tone. I could hear her accent, it sounded like the rest of the Jersey girls, but hers sounded just a little more New York, but who knows.

I smiled back and said, “Here you go,” extending my right arm out with the CD in my hand.

She bounced up, then down (not repeatedly or high, just lifted the heel of her feet), “Thank you much. For the CD and for the smile,” She said as she took it from me. She winked and smiled as she bounced off to Jesse, on my left.

But even though that girl, Brooke, made me smile from ear to ear, the only thing in my head was the name Amanda, and all I saw was her blue eyes still looking into mine. But I have to snap out of it!

Ring! Ring!

As I took out my cell phone, I pressed the ON button and said, “Hello?”

“Hey babe!”

“Oh, Hi Theresa..”

Section 2: Jesse's View

“Amanda is a pretty name,” I said as I noticed the name already written on the CD. I looked over to Matt, who had been signing Cecilia’s CD, and she was talking to him with a smile, so right away I thought she was his fan.

“Thanks!” The girl had answered.

“No prob,” I said as I lifted my hand from my pocket to the table (to give the girl a hug) and clumsily knocked Frankie’s soda onto the floor. Of course I bent over to clean it up, which seemed to take FOREVER!!! When I picked my head up, there she was, staring at me! I couldn’t identify the color of her eyes as I stared into them, which was surprisingly sexy and mysterious.

“Hi,” she had said as she pushed her hair behind her ear.

“Hey!” I said. I was trying to keep it cool but my heart was pounding so fast. I mean, yeah! I see beautiful girls everyday! But this one for some reason caught me completely off guard. I just pushed it off and tried to pretend that she was just a regular, normal fan. I tried.

“Cecilia? That name sounds so familiar.” I thought to myself on where I heard the name before, “Is your screen name Lovely Gurl-”

“-13” She said finishing my sentence.

That’s how I knew her! That’s the girl who I said was so adorable (personality wise) that she couldn’t BE adorable! I was so wrong! “That name isn’t common, so I knew I must have known you somewhere else,” I said smiling, although I could hardly breathe. It was either just the biggest coincidence in the world that I noticed her before hand, or it was fate. I’m not a fate kinda guy, so this is weird!

“I wasn’t sure if it was really you I was talking to. But now that I know, I can stay happy.” she said smiling. How come I can’t be as calm as she is? I thought to myself.

“Ditto,” I tried to be collected and calm but it wasn’t working. I quickly signed her paper (Making the “M” in my last name look like an “N”) and kinda shoved it into her.

“Thanks,” she said in a weird voice and a smile. I gave her a quick wave and slouched in my chair. So she moved on.

“Hi-ho!” The next girl said.

“Oh hi --” I trailed off, looking for her name on the CD, “-Jennifer!”

I said hoping not to disappoint my fans by not knowing their names.

“Hey, Jes!” She said, but she wasn’t really looking at me.

I laughed as she looked at Frankie (who was sitting to my left) Her eyes never left him, even as I held out the CD to her. She took it and walked toward Frankie.

After I signed the next girls CD (Her name was Brooke)she leaned toward my ear and whispered, “These girls may not know it yet, but your a dick!” She smiled sweetly and kept going. I just sat there and laughed.

Section 3: Frankie's View

As Jesse was signing a young girls, I was signing an extremely ecstatic fan’s poster. She was freaking out and crying as I gave her a hug. Then Jesse spilt my drink right on the floor next to me, “Dude watch it!” I yelled.

“Sorry! I got it!” He yelled as he bent down. Then the girl he was signing for came up to me and handed me her poster.

“Beware of the 3rd girl. She’s a little crazy,” Amanda (a cute little blonde) had said to me with a smile after I had signed it.

I turned to the 3rd person to find the skinny blonde I was talking about staring at me. I smiled and gave her a little heads up. She sighed and smiled dreamily. I laughed as I turned my head back toward the line.

“Hey, Cecilia!” I said as she gave me her CD.

“How did you know my name?” She had said to me in complete shock.

I pointed down with my eyes before looking at her and saying “It says it right here on the CD in Matt’s horrible writing!”

“Oh!” She said then giggled. I gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. She said to me, “You rock! Your from the Bronx! Your my Italian buddy!”

I laughed.

“Sorry,” she said with a smile.

“Its ok. Your cool too!” I had said to her. She sounded like she was from the City as well, either that or around upper Jersey.

“Thank you much!” She said as I handed her the CD back and she made her way to Chris (on my left).

“Anytime,” I said. Then I winked at her. (its always nice to get fans to know they have gotten your attention)

“Hi Frankie!” A girl had said.

“Jennifer ..” I read as I signed her CD, “Did Greg say goodbye, yet?”

“Huh?”

“Nevermind!” I laughed. She joined but you could tell she didn’t know what she was laughing about. “Big fan, huh?” I said as I read ‘Dream Street’ written across her cheek in purple glitter (matching her purple shirt). “Who’s your favorite?”

She immediately picked up her bangs to reveal the words ‘Frankie’ on her forehead.

I laughed and said, “Come here!” Getting up to give her a hug.

“Thank you so so much!” She said as she picked up the CD.

The next girl had pushed Jennifer to Chris’ side and plopped her palms on the table and said, “My name is Brooke!” then handed her CD over to me.

I laughed and pointed to the sheet and said, “Obviously!”

“Oh. Oops!” she said with a smile. “You all are so cool! Your the only actual NYC band out there!”

“You like New York?” I asked. How was I supposed to know what her next answer would be ....

“Well, like, DUH! I’m kinda from the state myself!”

“Sorry! I don’t actually know you front and back!” I said in a joking tone.

She spun around twice and said, “Now you’ve seen me front and back” with a smile.

I handed her the CD back and she made her way to Chris.

Section 4: Chris's View

“Hi Amanda, Who’s your favorite Dream Street member?” I asked her, I usually always ask those who don’t have a name written on their shirt or face.

“No comparison!” She said with a smile. I smiled back.

“How old are you?”

“I’m 15, 16 in a few months.” She said with a smirk on her face, and she looked over to Greg.

“I think you do have a favorite,” I whispered to her as I stared over at Greg myself. I saw her look at me from the corner of my eye, so I turned to her and smiled.

She giggled as she picked up the paper I signed and walked over to him.

I shook my head laughing.

“You're ....” the next girl started.

I knew we would have this, a girl who passed through not knowing the band, so I just smiled and said, “..Chris,” finishing her sentence.

“Yeah! Like, duh! I knew that!” the girl had said smiling while chewing on her gum. “I was gonna say incredibly hott.”

“Thanks.” I said. There’s nothing else to say when you get a compliment like that.

I took her CD and was about to sign it when she said, “NO!!!”

I threw the pen down and backed away from the table and stood up and yelled, “No What?!!”

“I hate blue pens!! Use a black pen!”

I started laughing as I sat back down and pushed my chair in, “That’s all?” I asked her. Then I turned over to Frankie, “Dude, can I borrow your pen?”

“No! I’m using it!” He said with a little bit of an attitude, “Greg has the box!”

“Dude, hand me a pen!” I said to Greg.

He extended his arm and was about to hand me the pen when I said, “NO!!!”

He flew back and almost fell out of his chair. “What?!” He screamed.

I laughed and said, “Can I have a black one, instead?”

The girl had laughed as she watched all this, and Greg just smirked as he handed the pen to me.

“Better?” I asked her still laughing from Greg’s reaction.

“Much,” she answered.

As I signed her CD (with the black pen) I asked, “How old are you, Cecilia?” I saw her name already written down.

“Oh. I’m turning 14 in a week.”

“Well Happy Birthday, then,” I said. It made her blush and made me chuckle.

She took the paper and went toward Greg. “Hello?” I said to the girl who was standing in front of me. Her eyes were still on Frankie (to my right). I waved my hands in her face and she finally caught conscience.

“Sorry.” she said as she looked at me seriously.

I smiled and said, “Cheer up, you look sad.” I took her poster and started signing it.

“Well, I really like Frankie .. ALOT! And I wanted him to like me.”

“He does like you, I like you too!” I said, cheering her up.

“But its not the same. He doesn’t like me like that!”

“Well, if its any consolation, your a very beautiful girl.” She smiled, but I was hoping to get more out of her, maybe a ‘Thank you’ or something. But she smiled, took the poster and walked away. I shook my head as she went over to Greg.

"My name is Brooke, and your hott.” I heard the voice say as soon as I saw a girl from the corner of my eye (my head was turned to Greg so she was standing in front of me). I looked over to find that girl I was looking at before, the one Greg said was sexy (which she was), sitting on the table.

“Hey, thanks, your not bad yourself” I said looking her up and down, and believe me, I wasn’t lying.

“Thanks, I know you say that to everyone, but thanks.” She said extending her arm out to give me the CD.

I signed it as she dreamily stared at me. “Where you from?” I asked.

“NYC!”

“Why you in Jersey then?” I asked her. It was kind of strange.

“Oh, friends!” She said with a smile, “And you of course!”

“Oh. Cool!” I said handing her back the paper. I got up and gave her a hug (and of course I gave her a kiss). “Bye, Brooke” I said to her and winked.

“Lots of love! Bye!” She yelled before she walked to Greg.

I leaned back in my chair with the black pen in my mouth with a huge smile across my face.

Section 5: Greg's View

“You have a favorite what?” I asked her as she walked over to me. I had overheard Chris whisper something about a favorite just moments before.

“Oh! Nothing!” She sort of snapped back but in a playful tone.

“Oh, really? So it wasn’t about your favorite song or favorite member, huh?” I asked, with a smile, hoping that she would answer.

“Uhh, no?” she said with a sort of embarrassed face. She looked toward the ground, and with her head still down, she raised her eyes toward me.

“Oh, OK then, just checking to see who my real fans are.” Maybe this will get her to speak.

“Well, maybe that was what he asked me.”

“Maybe it was ...” I said, still hinting that I wanted to know.

“OK. It was, and the answer was you.”

“Well thank you, I’d have to say your the most shy and honest fan I’ve had, yet!” I smiled toward her as her face became a complete blush. I had taken her CD and signed it as she fumbled her toes around on the floor below us.

Then Chris had scared the crap out of me, asking for a freaken Black Pen!

“You are ..” she whispered slightly as I handed back her paper and was giving her a hug.

“You are too.” I whispered back as I sat back down in my chair. She then bounced off into the crowd.

“Hi! My name is Cecilia!” The girl said as she reached me.

“I can see that, Cecilia. My name is Greg.” I said with a smile as I began to sign her paper. She brushed her dark brown hair away from her face.

“No duh!” were the words that came out as she tucked some hair behind her right ear. "That’s like saying the sky is blue!”

“Well, not really. Have you looked outside, today?” I said in a joking matter.

“Ha. Funny!” She said sarcastically as she remembered the dark clouds she had seen on the way in and the drops of rain that had fallen on her nose as she walked into this mall. “Can you read what Matt wrote?”

I laughed, then said, “I’ve learned to read ‘Matt’ very good lately. Ha ha. It says ‘To Cecilia, Thanks for being a great fan! We love you,’”

“Really? That says that?” She asked. She couldn’t read Matt’s handwriting ‘cause he had written it so fast.

“Yes. It does.” I said back. “Jesse fan, huh?” I asked.

“How did you-” she had started ‘til she looked down on the back of her hand which had ‘Jesse’ written all over it, “Oops!”

“No oops! That’s cool! I’ll be sure to let him know he has a real cool ditz for a fan!” I said, but of course I was still kidding.

“Thanks - wait .. HEY!” she said then laughed.

“I was just kidding, you know that!”

“Do I?” she had asked with one eye-brow raised.

“You should!” I said with a smile.

“OK, I guess I’ll believe you,” she said slowly levitating her eye-brow.

I quickly grabbed a piece of paper off my napkin and scribbled down something. “Wait!” I yelled as she started to walk away.

“What?!” she said in a scared tone, “What did I do now?!”

“Here!” I said handing her the CD, and closed the little piece of paper in it as well.

“Oh! I am a dits! Thanks!” She said then walked off.

I sat and laughed in my chair ‘til the next person came over.

“Hi, I’m Jenn. I don’t have a CD, I have a poster, is that alright?” the girl had asked.

“Its fine with me!” I said with a smile as I started to write my name onto it.

“OK, Thanks!” she said as she took the poster and walked off just as soon as I was done signing it.

'Guess she’s not really a ME fan’ I was thinking to myself as she walked off, then slouched back into my chair.

“Oh my God! You rock!” The next girl yelled to me as she put her CD down on the table.

“Thanks. So do you, Brooke!” I said with a smile as I took the CD and read the name written on it.

“No, I talked to you online, and you so rock!” she said as I signed my name and was handing it back to her.

“Well, then I guess I talked to you too, and you so rock!” I said laughing.

“No ish! Your the bomb man! Your on my Kick-ass Cool People for Life list!”

“Well I’ll be sure to write you down on mine A.S.A.P.!”

“Yeah! Cool!” She said. I stood up and gave her a hug right before she started walking away.

She turned back around and sat on the table, pushing the next fan out of the way. “Do you remember who I was?” she said looking at me.

“Yeah, You just added me to your ‘Cool List’!” I said laughing.

“No, online!”

I thought for a moment, but couldn’t forget the lovely profile that said

‘Name: Brooke....Dream Street Rocks!’

“Candi Gurl 06?” I asked.

“Oh my God! You moved up a space on my list!”

“Really?! What a coincidence, so did you!” I said in a playful, girlish tone. I noticed that girl Cecilia was standing not far waiting for Brooke, so I smiled knowing that they’ll both get a kick out of the note inside Cecilia’s CD.

“Are you mimicking me? You better not be mimicking me!” She said with an attitude.

“Oh, of course not!” I said slouching back down.

“Good, even though you are from Dream Street and even though your on my List, I’d still bust a cap in your ass.” She mumbled as she stood up from the table.

I stayed down not knowing what to say. “Gimme some more lovin’, now!” she said with a smile as she extended out her arms.

I stood up smiled and gave her a hug, and this time kissed her cheek. She was really cool, for a crazed fan.

Section 6: Your Wake-Up Call

‘What do I say to her? I feel horrible talking to her while I’m thinking about Amanda, but I shouldn’t be thinking about Amanda anyway! Maybe I’m just lonely! Maybe I just need to spend more time with Theresa!’ were the only things in my head as Theresa rambled on about her day on my navy blue cell phone.

“Terry, I’m kind of in the middle of a signing, can you talk about your yellow-brick quest for an abercrombie shirt later?” I said, I sounded a little pissed though.

“What’s wrong with you, Matt? What happened to my loving and caring boyfriend?” she asked in a sweet tone.

‘He got a call from heaven’ “I just have to keep my mind on the signings right now. Call me later, OK?”

“OK, Matt ... I love you!”

“I love you too, Am--Terry!” I quickly corrected myself. But she didn’t even notice so that was such a relief.

“OK. I’ll call you at 8:30! Talk to you later, bye!” She said in a bubbly tone as she left me with a dial tone.

“Peace.” I said as I closed the cover of my cell phone and stuck it back into my side pocket. I slouched in my chair and pulled my visor over my eyes.

“Oh my God!! Matt Ballinger!!” A fan had yelled.

I bounced up, she scared the crap out of me! But as I got up, I watched Amanda and her friends disappear into the crowd of people in front of us.
