Taking Me Over
Chapter 8: Snotty Fans
“…I’m not a girl…la, la, la, la” Greg sang loudly.
“Yeah we hope not Greg!” laughed Matt with everyone else.
“Huh?” Greg asked taking off his headphones.
“Ya know I’m starting to get a little jealous of this Britney chick,” Ellen joked.
“Yeah Greg really give Brit a rest will ya?” Frankie asked.
“Or at least give us one!” Jessica complained, “Hey we’re getting close to the arena, why don't you guys warm up a little or
something? Sing for us.”
“Yeah…come on…yeah go ahead,” everyone agreed.
“First Britney and now the Boy Teen Wonders,” Erin complained, “Why, why?!”
Chris smirked and nodded to the guys.
“Do I Say Yeah ,” asked Lindsay, “I love that superman part that Jesse does.”
Jesse smiled, “Alright ready guys? I guess you could just move your mouth or something Chris.”
Frankie started, “I know that you know that I can’t stop watching you. I feel it believe me, I know you feel it to.”
Chris started to move his lips, but then suddenly actual sound was coming out, “There’s something about me that you don’t
know about. I’m someone that somehow you seem to be without.”
“Whoa Chris sounds like your voice came back!” Frankie said happily.”
“No sh*t Sherlock,” muttered Mallory.
“Yeah and it came back full force too,” Jessica complained rubbing her ear and eyeing Mallory confusedly (she heard what she had said).
“Yeah I guess it did!” Chris replied smiling, “Now I can say everything I’ve been wanting to for the past…let’s see…2 hours!” he finished looking at his watch.
“Too bad we’re here!” Greg cut him off as the arena came into view.

“Wow this place is pretty big!” Emma observed turning around in circles so she could see the whole inside. That only caused
her to get dizzy and she fell backwards onto Matt who was doing basically the same thing.
“Wow you two are just made for each other aren’t you?” joked Lindsay.
“Come on guys we gotta get changed before the sound check starts.”
The guys headed backstage as the girls followed and then walked to the front row and picked their seats.
“This place isn’t really all that big, but the amount of fans that are starting to pile up outside is!” Niki commented.
The boys came out and got ready to do their sound check.
“Wow Frankie looks really pissed.”
“Huh? What…oh yeah, yea, sure whatever…” Mal mumbled making googly eyes at Chris.
“Uh don’t get me wrong here, I don’t exactly have experience in these areas, but since he’s your boyfriend and all…well I mean…shouldn’t you…” Erin tried awkwardly.
“Shh, shh, this is my favorite part!” Emma quieted Erin as Matt sang his little rap in Hooked On You.
“But I thought you li…”
“SHHHH!!” Emma whispered loudly.
The song ended and Emma finally turned towards Erin, “Now what were you saying?”
“Oh nevermind!”sighed Erin.
The guys finished their sound check and (after blowing kisses and winking in return to the girls joshing cat calls and whistles) headed backstage.
Backstage
“Yo Chris what’s wrong?” Matt called, “You haven’t looked in the mirror once!”
Chris smiled unhappily, “I’m just kinda confused,” he turned towards Frankie, “Didn’t you tell me Lindsay liked me?”
“Yeah she likes you,” Frankie answered, “At least I thi…well that’s what Mal…” a shadow crossed his face, “Yea she definitely does.”
“Then why didn’t she want to sit with me in the car?”
“I have no idea, I obviously don’t understand women,” Frankie sighed.
“Hey Matt could I talk to you for a sec?” Jesse asked pulling him away from the mirror.
“Yeah what’s up?”
“You know I like Lindsay right?”
“No…oh I mean yeah, yea I knew that,” Matt replied.
“Well now ya do. Anyways, I know she likes Chris from what she said. So would you mind if I used Emma to sorta…you know…”
“Make her jealous?” Matt finished his eyes blazing, “YES I MIND! I can’t believe you, how could you just think you could use someone like that?!”
“Whoa calm down man, I haven’t even done anything yet! And I thought you were the quiet one!” Jesse tried to calm him down but he turned away.
“Now I know why you’re not the favorite member,” Matt mumbled under his breath.
“Ex-cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuze me?! What is that supposed to mean?”
Matt sighed, “Nevermind Jester, you wouldn’t understand,” he said patting Jesse on the shoulder and walking away.
A Few Minutes Later
“We want Dream Street we want Dream Street!!” a fan screamed.
“OMG Maureen I think I just saw Greg! AHHHHHHHHH!” screamed another fan.
“That’s nice Jackie,” said the second fan’s mom said taking another aspirin.
“Yo girl you better back up, Greg is mine!” said a tall fan with reddish brown hair and light blue eyes.
“Who do you think you are girl?” another nearby fan asked.
“Shannen O'Connell. I’m a model and what on Earth makes you think that Greg would prefer you over me?!”
“Maybe because I’m not a conceited bi**h!”
“You don’t think you are, but what will Greg think of you...He’s not gonna like you either,” Shannen said nastily, turning
towards Maureen, “He doesn’t like shy girls.”
“Well Greg’s not my favorite anyway,” Maureen stated turning bright red.
“Are you ready for Dream Street?!?!?!” a DJ screamed on stage.
“YES!! AHHHHHHHHH!” the whole crowd screamed in reply.
“Ok, well here’s our lucky contest winner who is gonna introduce the boys for you all! Take it away Julie!”
A young fan stepped out onto the stage. She had thick dark brown hair reaching just below her shoulders. She was wearing a
tight blue three quarter sleeved shirt and light blue jeans, “Hey are you guys here for Dream Street?!”
“YESSSS!!!” the crowd screamed.
“What a loser, why doesn’t she get the show started already!” Shannen muttered.
Jackie moved closer to Shannen and ‘accidentally’ bumped into her, nearly shoving her to the floor, “Ooops, sorry!”
“You better be!” Shannen exclaimed jumping up and heading over towards Jackie raising her fists.
“Oh you better be careful you might break a nail!” Jackie laughed.
Maureen snorted with laughter eyeing Shannen’s long manicured nails.
“What are you laughing at?!”
Maureen stopped laughing abruptly.
“Yeah you better stop or I’ll give you something to cry about!”
“Don’t let that girl push you around Maur.” Jackie insisted, “Why don’t you give her something to cry about?!”
But before Maureen (or Shannen for that matter) could respond Julie screamed loudly, “......then give it up for Dream
Street!!!!”
The whole audience screamed at the top of their lungs as the boys walked onto the stage.
