Taking Me Over
Chapter 10: The Meet N’ Greet
“OMG did you see how he stared at you like that!” Jackie exclaimed for the third time as she and Maureen waited on the slow moving line of the meet and greet.
“Yeah like she had a piece of food stuck between her teeth,” muttered Shannen from a few spots in front of them.
“Did he say anything to you?” asked Jackie ignoring Shannen’s comment.
“You were there too Jackie, whatever you heard I heard.” Maureen answered, still in a daze. Greg had seem to dance with her longer than he did with that other girl, “But he’s so gorgeous, he probably has a girlfriend already,” thought Maureen trying not to get her hopes up about anything, “But I still can’t wait to meet him!”
The line started moving faster and now Jackie and Maureen could see that it was Shannen’s turn to talk to the guys. She leaned over toward them and laughed flirtatiously, “She looks like a bimbo,” muttered Jackie.
“Yeah...” Maureen agreed, “But she’s way prettier than I am” she thought, “If she can’t win Greg over no one can.”
Shannen leaned over and whispered something to Greg and pointed towards Maureen and Jackie as Greg laughed slightly, but awkwardly. Maureen pranced away and the other two girls saw Greg make a face to the other guys who laughed.
“What if she said something bad about me and now Greg thinks I’m a total loser?!” thought Maureen worriedly, “She doesn’t even know you! There’s nothing she can do to you!” But Maureen had a bad feeling that Shannen was capable of more damage than one might think.
“Maureen! Yo Maureen!” Jackie waved her hand in front of Maureen’s face.
“Huh? What, what?”
“Come on it’s our turn!” she finished excitedly, as they grinned at each other and walked up to the table.

“It’s Italian Girl!” thought Greg as his pulse quickened slightly, “Oh relax! She’s here just like all the other fans. A quick autograph maybe a picture and that’s it!”
“Helloooooo?!” asked a tall girl with long, curly, brown hair waving a hand in front of his face.
“Oh sorry,” he said tearing his gaze away from the table and forcing himself to look up at the girl. “What’s your name?” he asked reaching for her CD to sign it.
“Jackie. And hers,” she said pointing to the girl, “Is Maureen.”
“You know her? “ Greg started smiling, “I mean oh...cool.”
Jackie smirked, “Come on, admit it, you were practically drooling from that cute little mouth of yours.”
Greg smiled in spite of himself, “She’s pretty,”
“Yup.”
“So how’d you like the concert?” he asked changing the subject.
“It was good. Except for one of the fans who was sitting near me...”
“Oh really? What was wrong with her?”
“She was a bi**h.” Jackie stated flatly.
Greg laughed, “Well what was her name, maybe I met her earlier today?”
“Ummmmm....I think it was Shannen. She looks kinda like this,” Jackie made a sour face, “And she laughs kinda like this,”
Jackie laughed haughtily.
All the other guys looked at her strangely as Greg laughed, “Oh, oh herrrrr!” Greg laughed again, “Yeah she was a few people before you. She was telling me about how your friend Maureen is a real bi**h.”
“So that’s what she whispered!” Jackie exclaimed, “Well trust me, Maureen’s anything but a bi**h. In fact, she’s pretty shy, I’m trying to make her into more of a bi**h!”
Greg laughed, “Well thanks for coming to the concert. And for the little input on Shannen!”
“No problem. Oh and make sure you don’t drool too much when you meet Maureen. It doesn’t leave a very good impression on us girls,” she laughed walking away.
Maureen walked up to Greg and smiled her heart stopping smile again, “Hi, remember me? I’m the second girl you danced with during “Jennifer Goodbye.” My names…”
“Maureen I know,” Greg smiled.
“How’s you know?” Maureen looked kind of frightened, and more than anything Greg wanted to take her in his arms and hold her. Then he remembered where he was and that his girlfriend was right behind him, “Your friend told me,” he said pointing towards Jackie waving from behind the railing keeping back the fans who had already gotten their autographs, “She was telling me about how that Shannen girl is really nasty and that you were not a bi**h.”
“What else did she tell you about me,” Maureen asked flirtatiously.
“Not much, just not to drool when I meet you.”
Maureen blushed bright red.
Greg finished signing her CD and smiled, “Hey can I get your number? Maybe we can stay in touch?”
“S-sure!” Maureen stuttered fumbling in her purse for a pen and a piece of paper.
“Here’s my screen name if you’re ever online,” he said, handing her a piece of paper, “I can’t really give out my number, cuz...well you know,” he finished gesturing at the huge line of screaming fans.
“Sure...no it’s no problem, trust me I get it.” Maureen smiled again, “Thanks for the autograph!”
“No problem,” Greg replied watching her walk away with Jackie, “I know I have a girlfriend,” he thought to himself, “But why do the other girls hafta be so beautiful too?!”
