Taking Me Over

Chapter 1: Crushes

“OMG Chris looks so hot in those pants!” gasped Lindsay.

“Whatever,” Emma replied disinterestedly while drying the last dish.

“What, like you didn’t notice?!” exclaimed Lindsay.

“Not really.”

“How could you not?” sighed Lindsay. Just then the doorbell rang. “That’ll be Jesse," Lindsay said tearing herself away from the living room where Chris and the other guys were talking.

“I’ll get it, I’ll get it,” yelled Emma racing for the door.

“Hey,” said Jesse, “You look nice.”

“Thanks,” Emma replied breathlessly, staring into his beautiful green eyes.

“Is there something on my face?” asked Jesse.

“Hmmmm…wha…oh, no, no the other guys are in the living room.” Emma answered zooming back into reality.

“Cool,” said Jesse and Emma followed him into the living room.

“Hey Jesse!” Chris yelled.

“Hey.”

“Come on lets get a glass of milk to go with that,” Emma said, pulling Chris’s younger sister Erin from her position next to her brother on the couch where she was munching on some chocolate chip cookies.

“::GULP::, I’m fine thanks,” said Erin swallowing her mouthful.

“No really, come on,” insisted Emma giving Erin “the eye.”

“Oh, oh you’re right I am kind of thirsty,” lied Erin.

“Hey can you get me a glass too?” asked Ellen from where she was sandwiched in between Greg and Matt on the couch.

“Sure whatever,” said Emma, still pulling Erin.

"Geez it’s so annoying when Ellen is always hanging on Greg like that,” complained Erin in the privacy of the kitchen, “So what was it that you just had to tell me?”

“OMG, OMG, OMG!” screamed Emma.

“Calm down girl they’ll hear you! Now what is it?”

“Jesse said hi to me!”

“So, he says that to me all the time,” said Erin pointedly.

“He also said that…I…looked nice!”

“Oh well that’s different,” said Erin sarcastically.

“Oh Jesse your sooo cute!” mocked Matt who had just walked into the kitchen.

“OMG Matt you cannot say anything!” Emma demanded.

“Don’t worry I won’t say anything to your lover,” taunted Matt.

“Hahaha,” laughed Emma hitting Matt playfully.

“I wouldn’t trust him if I were you,” warned Niki jokingly as she walked in the back door.

“Hey,” said Matt nodding in her direction, “You guys coming on the boat ride?” Before they could answer him Lindsay and the rest of the guys walked in laughing and talking.

“Hey Niki, you made it!” called Lindsay.

“A chance to hang out with the Dream Street guys? Wouldn’t miss it for the world! What happened to practice anyways?” asked Niki.

“We decided to take a SHORT break,” answered Chris.

“Mom won’t like this…” cautioned Erin.

“Oh lighten up will you,” said Ellen.

“Yeah Erin, come on. Besides, Mom isn’t here, she’s in Florida visiting relatives. And she’s always saying we need more fresh air… a boat ride is perfect. I already talked to Claudia, she’s ok with us taking a little break,” Chris added.

“Yeah come on Erin,” begged Lindsay. The other girls joined in, “Please Erin, Pleeeeease?!”

“Alright, alright,” Erin caved in, “You don’t need my permission. But where can I put my duffel bag, I don’t want my stuff getting wet or lost on the boat.”

“Come on you can put in it Lindsay and my room,” Emma replied motioning for Erin to follow her.

“Okay guys lets go,” Ellen said after Erin had come back downstairs, “Inspired whining job, by the way Lindsay.”

“Thanks, I thought so. Now lets go before we miss the bus!”
