This is the first (and only) solo album from ColdmaN5. Following the departure of Earthworm in Cowboy Hat in June of 2006, CheeseCoat McTafferson decided to carry on solo. This album, completed in August, but released in November, is the end result. Shortly after completing this album, however, CheeseCoat himself decided to call it quits.
-
Even though all the music and lyrics were written by CheeseCoat McTafferson, Earthworm in Cowboy Hat nevertheless received "title" credits on a couple tracks (Steve Erwin Williams and Jeff Daniels in Juice Form to name a couple). This is because the titles were created months in advance, while the band was still together. Once Earthworm dropped out of the band, however, CheeseCoat decided to carry on the project solo-like.
-
This CD represents Cheesecoat's take on the direction ColdmaN5 should have headed. Tired of the same formulas (nonsensical lyrics over pre-made loops, with lots of added stupidity), "New Line Cinnamon Presents" focuses more on the music, and experimentalism, rather than outright comedy. This is much to Earthworm's dismay, as he doesn't like this record.
-
This is the first N5 album to have sequel tracks within the same album. It's also the first to have two consecutive tracks "lead in" to one another (The end of (Out of) Tom Cruise (Control) features a man flipping through channels, finally exclaiming, "Oh, I like this commercial!" Jeff Daniels in Juice Form, Part Two, which is the succeeding track, is then a commercial jingle for the juice beverage).
-
Following the announcement that the band would return as a duo in January, 2007, CheeseCoat suggested that Earthworm create his own solo album before the end of 2006, to even out the number of releases each member was involved in. Earthworm agreed, and came up with fourteen titles for the release, but then cancelled the project a shortwhile later. What will become of the fourteen titles has not yet been decided.
Though the group has been back together since early, 2007, their next release wasn't until July, 2008. This is due to several failed album attempts and a growing disinterest with ColdmaN5 in general.
