Next Rehearsal: Wednesday from app. 3-5:30pm

In memory of our teacher and friend

Shawn Reidy
1973-2002

Spring drumline has officially started!
I hope all of you rookies are hyping it up, because us vets are. This season is looking to be the best one yet!

For all of you who don't know, this site is one of the main resources for your drumline information. Every rehearsal will be announced at least two days in advance on this site, as well as a weekly update of what should worked on or brought to that upcoming rehearsal. You should definitely check this page for updates on a regular basis. In addition, there will be news and pictures documenting the entire season.

*****Next Rehearsal is Wednesday the 11th from 3pm-5:30pm*****

PIT and SWING LINE:
Work up the exercises that were taught at the last rehearsal and memorize them. Feel free to come in at lunchtime to work on them, but put the mallets back were you found them. Also, be sure to ask any of the vets to help you if you are having trouble!

DRUMLINE:
Work on all the exercises taught at the last rehearsal, WITH A METRONOME!

EVERYONE:
If you do not own a pair of sticks, make sure you get some soon. This is more directed toward the people in the Battery, but it would be nice if everyone owned a pair. A metronome would also be good to have. Christmas is coming up here pretty quick, and remember that they make good stalking stuffers. Also keep in mind that rehearsal time is somewhat limited, so be sure to work on and review EVERYTHING that is taught. That way we won't have to spend time reteaching people things they have forgotten. HYPE IT UP!!!

9-10-02

Schedule for this week:
0911 Morning rehearsal
0912 Morning rehearsal
0913 Morning rehearsal and first football game

Expect a longer update later this week. Keep up the good work kids.
-Meredith

8-27-02

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
0828 Morning rehearsal
0829 Morning rehearsal
0830 Morning rehearsal
0902 Morning rehearsal

Good job this week. Keep it up. No Monday Night Rehearsal next week. There is Tuesday morning, so be aware of that.

PIT: Hope you all worked on your parts, we are playing them for a "grade" infront of Casey tomorrow morning.

DRUMLINE: Be reviewing your parts daily, or better yet, hourly, WITH A METRONOME. Also, would someone PLEASE inform me on what I need to post up here for your section? This is the last time I'm going to ask. I'm considering changing this page into the Coronado Pit webpage.

Congrats to the new BACH officers:

President: Meredith Kammer
Vice President: Theresa Chidester
Secretary: Amy Frost
Treasurer: Alex Thompson

Senior Rep: Jenni Wirgau Junior Rep: Brandon Ingram Sophomore Rep: TBA Freshman Rep: Elizabeth Ponder

Hype it up!!!

SCHEDULE FOR NEXT WEEK:
0818 Morning: Downbeat AT 6:30am
        Night: 6pm-9pm
0820 Downbeat AT 6:30am
0821 Downbeat AT 6:30am
0822 Downbeat AT 6:30am
0823 Downbeat AT 6:30am

Sorry about the lack of updates. It won't happen again. I hope everyone enjoyed their first week back to school. It's a fresh start to a new school year, so lets hype it up!!! Make it a goal this year to go that extra mile and get work done as soon as it is assigned AND hand it in on time. Organization is the key. USE a planner, actually STUDY for your tests, get to class ON TIME and be prepared for it. I don't want anyone on this line to be unable to march because of poor academics. With all the new rules and changes going on at Coronado, I think that rule will be enforced harder than last year. Just take care of buisness. If you need help on ANYTHING, most of us seniors (and juniors) would be MORE than happy to help you out. Don't be afraid to ask someone. I ask nothing less than your absolute best.

As you may have noticed on the schedule for this upcoming week, morning rehearsals say DOWNBEAT at 6:30am. This hasn't been a huge issue yet, but every day it slowly gets worse. When I say the downbeat is at 6:30, it means that the pit carts should be pulled out and everyone should be set for warm-ups at that time. Not people rolling in at 6:30 and warm-ups not starting until 6:50. On a related note, there are 7 people in pit and out of that 7, one person had to pull out and set up two of the four carts all by herself this morning (ahem). There isn't going to be anymore of that. If you need that extra ten minutes to get into the zone in the morning, help pull the carts out first, and THEN do your thing. I don't know if this has been an issue for battery, but keep the same idea in mind.

Battery: Since I'm not on the line this year, I don't know what I should post up here for you guys. If one of you could email me your info on a continuous basis, that would be really cool. That is mainly speaking to Tyler, Willie, Matt or Stevie. My email is mkammer22@yahoo.com

Pit: Be ready for new music this week. If you need ANY help on the music that we have, come ask me or Brandon and we can set some time aside.

Keep up the good work
-Meredith

We learned a lot this last week and we should not have to reteach or relearn ANYTHING. This season is now in full effect. Max it out!

Remember that your homework is to note the exersize we learned last Monday on staff paper, and to study the TC for the test. If you have trouble, call Brandon.

Keep on hyping-

Tour was SWEEET! Especially Willie's jammin' triangle part. I didn't take any pictures, so for everyone that did, send them my way so I can get them up here. Make sure they are appropriate."Championship" pictures are up, look under the 2002 pics section. Thanks to John Paul for those. I'm not sure if were doing the Supai gig, but if we're not we need to get the racks over to Mike's house after the concert. I'm going to assume Matt and Tyler will take care of that. We also need to have a final drumline party, so lets get that arranged this week. Again, we can have it at my place, but if anyone else wants to offer up their house it's cool with me (hint to Stevie and Audrey). I think that's all for now. If anyone ever has anything to add or amend to this update section, email me at mkammer22@yahoo.com and I'll put it up RIGHT HERE.

That was a really, eh, interesting show yesterday. It was an amazing season though. You all heard the speeches Mike, Casey, Josh, and Antonio made, so I wont go into any of that. We will probably have a drumline party/ceremony in the next couple of weeks. If no one else wants to offer up there house, my house is fine. Pics from yesterday will be up soon, so keep checking that.

Thanks to everyone that came out to support Casey's jammin recital. It was nice to see folks there. However, the turnout could have been MUCH greater. For those that didn't catch it, you really missed out. I certainly hope I see many more familiar faces at my recital on Friday. Every rehearsal we tell each one of you how to correct something or make something better, but you never really see US play. Here's your chance. Take advantage of this.

Next rehearsal 9-9 this saturday, March 30

We will be outside until 2:00. Please bring plenty of sunblock so we don't get burnt.

I have just recieved word that some of us our not passing all of our academic classes. This effects not only your education, but graduating on time and the entire percussion ensemble. Anybody who is failing one or more classes may not participate in such functions such as the upcoming Gilbert show. Please, do not only think of yourself, but the group and the possible potential for disaster any one individual can create. I appreciate all the effort and great moralle every member brings to the ensemble. However, let's not get carried away with the drumming. Remember what we are all here for in the first place...to be educated. Be responsible. Please.

make sure you are reviewing your parts daily.

WOW! Great show today guys! I was talking to a lot of the band parents and they give us major props for having that rehearsal, or having that REALLY GOOD rehearsal, minus instruction. I think that shows a lot on what this line is capable of doing. The show was pretty good. Some parts were shady, but we got back on and had a great ending.

*~*~*REHEARSAL*~*~*
Monday the 18th
7pm-9pm
Be there early to help move equipment, you know the drill...

We need to get the uniform box painted before the Gilbert gig. I'll get the paint from my dads company, but someone else has to the labor.

Thanks for being cool everyone! Oh, and welcome back Mike! Rehearsal felt kind of like it was missing something without you. But no worries, everything went smoothly and to schedule.

Great rehearsal everyone!!! For those of you who missed, we ARE having a rehearsal this Friday starting at 6:30pm. Bring your red (pink?) shirt and black pants. This will be a dress rehearsal. Also, try to arrive early to move equipment. Most of us have been pretty cool about this, but there is still some people rolling in 5 minutes before call time. That’s not cool...you know who you are...fix it. Other than that, I posted more pics of the last two rehearsals (thanks JP!!!). See you all this Friday-

We need someone with a truck to transport the racks to Ron Ponder's house. This needs to be done as soon as possible. The rack that is set up in the percussion room needs to come apart and both racks need to make it there... The drums do not need to go. If we could take care of this, this week sometime in the next couple of days that would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Great rehearsal Monday. Everybody's working extremely hard and we're really making it happen. Remember to review the show in front of a mirror at least three times this next week. If you are still struggling on anything; warmups, music, etc.; you have four days to work it out.

Show Saturday:

Bring shirts!!
Bring black pants!!!!
Keep checking this page for updates on times to meet to load and depart for the gig.
We perform at 6:10 pm

California is cancelled. Now that we will not be performing on this date (sat. march 23), please do not assume we do not have rehearsal. In fact, that's one of the main reasons we are not going: so we can rehearse (12-5). No one should have anything else planned during this time anyway, being we were originally expecting to do a show on this day.

Spring break is almost here. Please check your calendars and note that we WILL be rehearsing during the break. Remember; no extra surprise rehearsals. We must max out what we have.

Let there be rock!
