Frankie goes to Stamford Bridge

A favourite son returns to Chelsea tonight as Frank Sinclair makes his first appearance on Chelsea TV's ‘Live from Stamford Bridge’.
Frank was the local lad who played for Chelsea’s schoolboy teams at an early age and graduated to become an FA Cup and Coca Cola Cup winner with us, scoring in the second of those Finals.
He was voted by the fans as Player of the Year in his first full season in the team and he played 218 games before being sold to Leicester for £2.5 million. He has continued to forge a healthy career for himself and is now one of the 50 highest Premiership appearance makers, not to mention the fourth most booked!

Cole Ban Upheld

Joe Cole will be suspended for Chelsea’s next two matches following the failure of his appeal at an F.A. hearing today.
Joe was originally handed the ban, plus a £15,000 fine, at the beginning of December for an incident after the final whistle when his former club West Ham played Bolton last April.
The appeal rejection means that Joe will miss Sunday’s game at Blackburn and the home game against Charlton a week later. John Terry is also suspended for the Charlton game having accumulated five yellow cards.
Geremi's Cameroon begin title defence

Chelsea player interest in the African Nations Cup began in Tunisia yesterday as a Cameroon side containing Geremi played their opening group game against Algeria.
Cameroon, the reigning champions were held to a 1-1 draw by their north African opponents but it was Geremi who crossed for the opening goal, scored by former Sunderland striker, Patrick Mboma.
Geremi impressed throughout the game, supplying a succession of dangerous crosses from the right-hand side although he did shoot a second-half chance to score the winner wide.
The draw leaves Cameroon equal second in their four team group behind Egypt, all teams having played once. Their next match is on Thursday against Zimbabwe. The top two from each group go through to the quarter-finals.
Nigeria, with Celestine Babayaro in their squad, open their tournament tomorrow against Morocco.
