What is The Der-A-Lix? Two fucked up kids? Yeah possibly. Is it more than that? …Probably not.
Who can deny the sheer Rock N' Roll greatness of a band such as The Der-A-Lix? Anyone who’s ever turned on a radio. Every show I saw, I never saw in a club, Mostly because the band couldn’t get though the front door. I think I might have only seen 3 in total! But that doesn't matter! 3 is enough to know everything! Through the years Jim Broadfield and Brian Delorme have went through a lot together! A whole shit load of shit… mostly their music.
Really if you don't believe me listen to their songs. They're so packed full of emotional turmoil… they almost seem to not make sense. Oh well, as long as it rhymes! They’re constantly trying to find a new bassist (let's see they've had about a dozen), as well as many breakups, and reformations as one can not count on their fingers. All signs of a band that’s together for the music.
But they're back, and they're back for good! …No really … they are. All the signs of the past point to it! As Brian and Jim have always said, "We want to go places!" and they definitely are doing that. Right to the street corner! Jim just got back from TN tonight I hear. What great news! *Suck suck* He got to Jeff's at Midnight! 12 P.M
For anyone who doesn't know Jeff's, or should is say JEFF'S (fuck that) is a favorite underground party hangout of Scituate Rhode Island. A place that every major local group out of Scituate RI since the year 2000 (the year The Der-A-Lix started playing there) has had to rock to make it big, and survive. It’s a shame though that there haven’t been any major bands out of Scituate since 2000. And if there is, I doubt they played at Jeffs. Want proof just look at Cheater's Fare, remember them, big glossy, piece of shit, greatest band in the Scituate world, Brian was even in them, so was I! Wait, that was the problem, Graham. Brian doesn’t make a band good, and graham… Oh god. Just look at him. Listen to him sing, and you’ll know why Cheaters Fares failed. Not because they never played Jeff’s, But because of the sheer lack of talent on the part of the singer. But guess what the REAL greatest band in the Scituate world is The Der-A-Lix! Wonder why I didn’t think of that?
What is more Scituate than The Der-A-Lix? Please tell me. Ok, two pant-less farmer’s and a sheep. Tractors, Rolling fields of wheat etc. The Der-A-Lix are a band that has gone out on their own, and through their dotted career played almost every single major Rhode Island club other than AS220 and The Met/Lupo's. If you look hard enough you will find that there are no other major clubs besides Lupos, Thus, making me sound more like an ass.
But now the Der-A-Lix are set, bassist or not! They’re back! And this time they’re copying the White Stripes instead of Green Day! They will conquer AS220, and The Met! They are not "The Band That Wants To Go Places." Please believe me when I say, they are the band "That IS Going Places." Now I’ve confused myself trying to think of ways to suck up to a band that hasn’t been around for the past 2 years. So let me quote The Ramones "Hey Oh! Let's Go!" Wait, Are you sure its not “Hey Ho! Let’s Go!”? Quote it right next time you dick. Go with The Der-A-Lix it will be the greatest ride to the greatest rock concert you'll ever take! Even if it’ll only be one. And they’ll break up again.. but hey, Anything to make you like me.
