CHAPTER THREE
‘Morning mom!’ I greeted weakly as I delicately pressed my lips on her cheeks. I know that the black eye bags under my eyes were obvious and mom would notice that too. I should have put something to hide them. I carved a smile for her.
‘Morning darling! Oh dear… you couldn’t get any sleep last night?’ Mom asked in concern. Oh mom! Stop calling me that! I’m no longer a four year old kid. I will kill myself if you ever call me that in public! We’ll discuss about the killing part later.
Whoa! Breakfast! Well its just the same old menu, bread and eggs and some new flavours of jam. Guess mom must have overslept this morning that she didn’t have the time to prepare a decent breakfast for us. I can understand that.
I spread my bread with raspberry jam and started to chew it down.
The taste was different.
It tasted bitter. Guess I am down with a fever and it has affected my taste bud.
‘Do you want to see a doctor after school today?’ No way! I’m not gonna see any doctor. Spending time behind closed door with a stranger touching me is not my idea of fun.
‘Its alright mom, I just couldn’t get enough sleep last night. I’ll be fine.’
‘Then you should sleep earlier-‘’
‘Well, no thanks to-‘’
‘Morning mummy! Wow! What a spread!’ Greeted Alyssa with great excitement. She gave mom a kiss on her cheeks and took a seat next to me. Fancy giving me your ugly smile. Didn’t the ‘he’ kidnap you late night? I was so hopeful. Well, a brother can keep on wishing. I am so cruel.
‘Morning sweetie… so did you get any sleep last night?’ This time mom looked at her so-called sweet and pretentious. I just couldn’t take it when mom said that Lyssa has a critical mind in thinking. If you ask me, she’s just being an idiot.
‘Of course! Luckily you didn’t lock your room or else I would have slept on the stairs instead. I thought that the guy I formerly called brother would help his little sister but in the end, he proved to be heartless, as expected!’ Chided Alyssa as she threw a sarcastic look at me. Are you talking to me? Not working lil’ sister!
‘Yeah right and thanks to you for disturbing me all night-‘’
‘Oh my! Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed huh!’ Alyssa continued with her sarcasm. If its not for mom, I would have slapped her face for giving me that irritating look.
‘Oh yeah? What about you? Just because I didn’t accompany you back to your room, doesn’t give you the rights to come back and ransack everything!’ Alyssa looked puzzled as she turned to mom. Oh no! Not another acting from her, not this morning!
‘What are you talking about? Are you still in dream land?’ Lyssa frowned. Yeah right! And the nominee for the best pretentious award goes to none other than the little brat herself!
‘What are you talking about… I don’t get it huh!’ I imitated her voice. I know it’s annoying but that’s what she gets for irritating me with that pretentious look of her.
‘Really I don’t get what you mean man! Who came back to your room? I was in mom’s room all night!’
‘Yeah right! Don’t tell me that it’s the ghost who did it! That, some idiotic ghost actually came into my room at 2 in the morning and ransacked the whole damn place! Just admit it, you came back to my room!’ I continued as I bit a small portion of my bread. Why am I even trying to eat this? Everything is just bitter and I am really pissed right now.
‘Really Nick! Mom is here to vouch for me! Right mom?’ Alyssa turned to mom. Trying to win votes I see?
‘That’s right Nick… she was there all along with me and she never comes out right after jumping straight on my bed… are you sure that it was your sister Nick?’ Of course I’m 100% sure that its her! She had long hair and she was just like her, wait a minute… did I just say that it was ‘like’ her? This is getting nuts now. First it was the ransacking and now I was told that it was not her. Can somebody please tell me what’s going on. Hey, now I can sing that Marvin Gay’s song and actually meant it.
‘If she was in your room then who ransacked my room?’ Muttered me alone as my eyes swung back to my bread. I put it down on the plate. Thinking about those things have killed my appetite.
‘I told you… he’s watching me and now he’s watching us… ‘ Whispered Alyssa.
‘Yeah right! You and your wild imagination again!’ I giggled nervously. I hope it doesn’t show.
‘No Nick, I’m serious alright! I don’t know who in the hell is that girl but it’s a boy that I’m talking about now! He’s standing right at the window of that house… I don’t know how but it seemed that I can see him clearly from here and he’s waving at me as though he was trying to get help… and I’m serious alright!’ Whispered Alyssa as she put down the bread. I stopped chewing and looked at her. I wondered if it would be a wise move to trust her just that once but maybe like what I’ve always said, my larger than life ego refuse to accept the fact that ghosts exist is still high. Yeah, like a mountain.
Still, I need some explanations as to why my wardrobe was ransacked. Even by the time when I woke up that morning, all my clothes were lying around. Quickly I stuff them back in the wardrobe thinking that it was Alyssa’s work and wanted to punish her by hanging those clothes back to its original place. Even mom vouched for her now.
So who could explain that?
‘Alright kids, we need to leave now… I’ll send you two to school first and then I’m going to the Town council so that they could get the phone line ready for us by today… after that I’ll do some shopping before I pick you up from school… will that be alright?’ Asked mom. She looked at us. We were lost in our own thoughts and obviously were not paying much attention to what she had just said. ‘Well… did you listen to what I’ve said?’
‘Oh yes mom! I did! So… I’ll just wait for you then!’ Said Alyssa as she shoved at me.
‘Oh yeap! Sure whatever you say!’
‘Good! Nick I want you to look after your sister in school alright and stop looking for trouble in school… am I making myself clear?’ Said mom as she put on her coat and grabbed the car keys on the coffee table.
Look after her? Hello? She is fifteen and not five. She can walk without stumbling down and she can run without falling so why should I look after her. Fine, it’s a new school with a new environment but that’s not the whole point. The point here is that she has to be independent. Man, did I forget to say this? She’s a spoilt brat afterall and being a spoilt brat she needs attention.
‘Nick are you listening to me?’
‘Yeah, yeah I know!’ I muttered without looking at Lyssa. I took my blue backpack while Lyssa sling her bag on her shoulders.
I don’t really fancy in wearing too much clothes to school even when I was in Merseyside. I prefer wearing short sleeves shirt with jeans or cashmere sweaters with jeans and my jeans were all faded coz we can’t spent much now that dad’s gone. Thank you fashion for making faded jeans so in! Since that was my first day in school, mom kept pestering me into wearing something decent, you know to get into the good book of the principal.
Like what she had always said, ‘First impression is very important. It portraits how that person’s personality by just the first look. Look smart will make people think that you are smart’ Yeah right mom! Even those rockers, mom kept saying that they should get the torn parts sewed. I mean, what’s up with that? Didn’t she know anything about fashion? Guess not.
A blue short sleeves shirt with my faded jeans, of course without the tearing part was my first choice and mom had nothing to say about that. Unlike Lyssa who was all dolled up as though she was going for her first date and not the first day in school. She wore a pink baby doll dress up to her knee and she tied up her long brown hair. Mom kept saying that Alyssa reminded her so much of her younger days, while I looked just as boyish as dad. Dad? Boyish? Eww! I kinda missed him now.
* * *
The journey was not as smooth as I’d thought. There were a few occasions where our wagon hit a few potholes and if we had to go through the same way to school for a week, I guess I have to see a specialists for an x-ray in case I dislocated my waist or any other parts of my body for that matter!
When we reached the school compound, I could see the students were just as hype as those in Merseyside. Not of so much difference there except for the size of the school.
Small. That was the only word I could describe about my new school. It was twice smaller than the size of my old school in Merseyside. As we walked towards the school, I heard a loud squealing of a bus coming from around the corner. The atmosphere began to change. Its becoming more chaotic now.
I was observing some of the students sitting under the tree when Lyssa pulled my arms. What now?
‘Quick! Mom is waiting for us upstairs!’ Yeah, yeah, tell the whole damn world. Good start for my reputation. People are gonna call me wimp now.
‘Hey stop pulling alright, I can walk on my own!’ I shook my head as I walked towards mom. She looked as anxious as a five year old as her first day of school. but not me, no Sir, I’m just feeling sorry for being me now.
Along the way to the Principal’s office, I noticed that almost all the girls turned their heads around as I passed by them. My ego is unbeatable at this stage so I kept a pretentious low profile and pretended to look down at the floor. But as I passed by another group of girls, they started to whisper to each other as though they have never seen such a gorgeous guy coming over to their school. Oh did I mention about my blonde hair and blue eyes but not the typical dumb-blonde. Someone with high IQ and a great thinker. My Trigonometry reports showed that.
Damn I love myself! Hey! I’m a normal teenager, ego is so normal for me!
‘Knock! Knock! Knock!’ Mom gave a soft knocking on the glass door.
‘Come in.’ We heard a husky voice from inside. Slowly mom twisted the knob and opened the door. My heart beat raced a notch than normal as though I’m waiting for my turn to hold the baton in the final round of the relay.
‘Hey! Come in!’ Exclaimed Lyssa as she signalled to me in excitement. I wonder why is she so damn excited about this school anyway. There isn’t anything like a huge basketball court, a big hall, a big cafeteria or maybe an air-conditioned jamming room. What I see was purely beyond my slightest expectations.
Sahara Desert.
That’s the best description I guess. Sounds mean but its the fact. And all these students were like camels walking endlessly.
‘Good morning Mr. Staton!’ Mom greeted nervously as she stretched out her hands. That’s the principal huh? Not bad though except that maybe he’s a bit too over-dressed for such an occasion. I mean a bow? What’s up with him?
‘Oh good morning! Good morning! You must be Mrs Carter! I’ve been waiting for you to come!’ He reciprocated mom’s friendly handshake with a warm smile and a short handshake. Look at that huge wrist of his.
Very chubby. Very delicious. Oh God, did I just say delicious? Let’s make one thing clear. I’m no FAG. I’m straight. I love girls!
‘Oh I’m sorry that we’re late today-‘’
‘No, no its alright! Its alright Mrs Carter… its alright I can understand that. You’re still new in this town so no doubt you’ll get lost on your way here but try not to make it as a habit though!’ Laughed the chubby principal at his own words. One particular thing that I observed since we step in was that he loves repeating himself as though I am hearing endless echoes.
I exchanged glances with Alyssa and she gave me the look that said ‘I can’t believe this man! He’s laughing at his own words? Now, he’s giving me goosebumps and I would in return, gave her my look that said ‘That’s right! I told you the whole town is mad! The real good life example is him!’.
Alyssa smiled to show that she understands. That’s the only thing Alyssa and I clicked about. We don’t have to talk, just throw these looks and we’ll understand what the other is thinking about. But she’s still irritating!
‘So… these must be the children enrolling to this school I guess!’ Like doh!
‘Did you see anyone else in this room Sir?’ Oh dear, did I just said that out loud? Damn! It feels good but I’m definitely in his bad book now! Just shut up Nickolas!
‘Nickolas!’ Mom called out my name sternly, short and clear as she stood up and stared strongly at me. Fine! There’s no need for you to stare at me.
‘No it’s alright there Mrs Carter! Its alright! He has a good sense of humour there and I like that! I like that!’ I heard that alright Mr. Echo! He don’t have to try hard to laugh at his own jokes! Its so hilarious to find him making a clown out of himself. Trust me. I’m seeing it now.
‘What?’ Oh come on mother! Didn’t you hear that? He’s praising me! He’s saying that I have a great sense of humour and you should be proud of that! I told you I have that supernatural talent in making humours! I love Mr. Staton already. Great, now I love the guy! I hope I didn’t go around telling people that. Not good for my reputation.
‘All the kids here can be so uptight sometimes that they seemed to forget to joke around… but they are very lucky because we don’t just give pressurising subjects and intensive study, we also provide them with sports, games and other facilities for them to release their tension… kids nowadays are too clever and for that we have to be just as clever as they are… win their hearts to study by giving all the leisure at the appropriate time… so do your children smoke Mrs Carter?’ Asked Mr Staton as he walked back to his ancient chair.
Did you hear that? The chair was yelling for help! It was begging for mercy! I am soo funny! Okay, don’t start smirking on me Nick! You got to hide it man!
‘No! No they don’t smoke and they have clean records from their previous schools… these are their reports and the school’s testimonial would be sent over to you personally’ Mom passed to him our report book.
‘Eeemmm… very impressive… though the results are not that impressive but they showed a consistency and that’s what I like… I like that… ‘ Laughed the Principal again. Trust me, he is diagnosed to have gone mad! Checked the records myself! Yeah okay, there’s no records, but still, he is mad.
‘When are we gonna get out of here? I’m so tired of standing’ Whispered Alyssa as she slouched from her straight position.
‘Me too! See he’s laughing at his own words again! Is that even suppose to be funny?’ I turned my attention away from him and looked out of the window instead. All the time when mom was discussing about the transfer, I kept myself pre-occupied by thinking what Bran must be doing? Would he be missing me? In a manly kind of way of course! What about Amanda? I’m sure she must be running nuts all over the school to look for me! No doubt about that!
The sinners would always begged for forgiveness and I am waiting for that from her for all those heart aches and body bruises that she gave me. Screw her! Because of her, I’m having phobia of having relationship with girls again! Oh man! Again, I love girls no doubt about it but I’m not into relationship with them now.
Suddenly something caught my attention. I strained my eyes and stared closely at the figure standing under the tree. The vision was not that clear but I’m sure that she’s beautiful. In fact the most beautiful thing that I ever come across ever since the second that I stepped into Windsorville Town. There goes my theory of me having phobias with girls!
‘Nick? Nick? Nick!’ Shouted Alyssa as she shook my arm.
‘What?’
‘Mr. Staton is calling you dumbbell!’ Said Alyssa as she pointed to the chubby principal.
‘Oh! Yes Sir?’ I asked as I swallowed down a big lump of saliva. It’s not yet a full day and I’ve left an impression on Mr. Staton with my hobby of day-dreaming. And I know that mom is not gonna like it.
‘I hope that you understand and obey those simple rules in this school which I’ve just gone through with your mother and sister. This school may be small but we emphasised strongly on discipline and behaviour. No truancy, no smoking, no hanky-panky and definitely no fighting! I hope that I’ve made myself clear here!’ That’s it? You disturbed me from my concentration for that? I couldn’t see her anymore because you want to tell me about the damn rules? Can’t believe this!
My eyes strayed back to the window. Its confirmed. She’s no longer there. Just my damn luck!
‘What are you looking at?’ Whispered Alyssa when she realised that I was so engrossed looking at the window.
‘The window! Can’t you see that?’ I whispered back to her.
‘The window? What’s wrong with the window?’ Oh come on Lyssa! Mind your own business alright! If I said its the window then it’s just gonna be the window full stop. And no more of your why, what, where and when! Ouch! Here comes my headache!
‘Alright then Mrs Carter.. .I guess the kids must be excited to get to their classes so that’s about all for the introduction and thanks once again for choosing our school and I can assure you that you are not making any mistakes by sending them here!’ Said Mr. Staton as he stretched out his hands for a handshake.
Mistakes? It has been a terrible damn mistake since the first time when I stepped inside that wagon and headed to this town Mr Staton. That’s for sure! And now I’m pretty sure that the worst part is yet to come like passing the day with this bad headache. Ouch! Its damn killing me now!
For a start, let’s just see how the school is like and then the house and then the mansion.
The mansion?
Suddenly the picture it came into my mind. It was dark from outside even during the day. I wonder who ever live in that mansion or rather a dome.
‘Thank you so much Mr. Staton, indeed I can rest my mind at ease now knowing that they are in your school and I really appreciate your understanding…well… looks like I’ve got to make a move first, thank you so much for your help!’ Mom’s anxiety broke my daze. I could see her face glowing with smiles. At least one of the burdens is off her chest now, since we have been accepted in this school. Another problem of getting a phone line is queuing up next.
‘Oh don’t mention it! I really love helping people especially those in needs… don’t worry so much about them, I’m sure that they can adapt to the school’s system as well as the new environment… just leave everything to me…’ Cheaptalk.
Finally, its over. It marked the new beginning of the end of me as mom walked away and left us with this monster. If this is kindergarten, I would have screamed for mom to take me home.
‘Alright kids… I’m sure that you know the rules here and that no-‘’
‘No truancy, no smoking, no hanky-panky and definitely no fighting!’ We recited in unison.
‘Very good! You remember that! I like that! Seems like the two of you catch up with things very fast… somehow there’s something which I need to warn you. We have experience a very tough time before and since then… we have learnt to stop completely talking about it… especially about any spiritual things happening around here…’ Lyssa looked at me with her face full of confusion and I can understand that because I am confused myself with his words. What exactly is he trying to tell us. My headache is getting worst with his words and I have to keep straining my brain to understand what the heck is he talking about.
‘Sorry Sir but we don’t really… get what you mean there…’ I asked. He stopped his steps and took a long time to answer to my question.
‘Do you know anything about the old mansion?’ He asked, looking serious at us.
‘The old mansion? I think I saw the mansion from my house but so far we heard nothing about it. Is there anything going on over there?’ I asked again. Why is everyone talking about the damn mansion? Okay, so ‘everyone’ is just the old lady and Mr Staton, but that’s just enough to irritate me.
‘No… I was just curious and wonder if you should ever know anything about that mansion. Since you know nothing, its best that you leave it as the way it is. Sometimes things are better left unsaid and the mystery are better left undiscovered, don’t you think?’ Hello! Are we having any drama class here? Why are you playing with your words? Can’t you just say it out straight to the point.
‘You mean there’s really something wrong with the mansion?’ Lyssa asked as she creased her forehead at him.
‘I didn’t say that Miss Carter but what I’m trying to say here is that… there’s nothing interesting about that mansion and obviously my advise would be that the two of you stay away from that cursed place.’ Wait a minute! Did I hear it correctly? The place was cursed? Man, this is getting so exciting. Forget about the headache! Tell me more.
‘What’s wrong with the house Sir?’ Asked Lyssa again, unconvinced by his little briefing and explanation. That’s another typical trait of her! Always determined to get to the bottom of everything. Yes. Everything under the sun and beyond the sea.
But this time, its fine with me as long as she’s the one doing the questionings.
‘I shouldn’t tell this to you but for the sake of your safety and curiosity… I think its enough if I say that the place was cursed and the cursed kept terrorising the whole town back in the past. You can see people practising black magic, voodoos openly and even other forms of rituals. This town was commonly known as the Trance Town by the Edge because of its geographical position along the Ipswich Straits. Even the Mayor of the town imposed a strict curfew on the children. Every children were not allowed to get any closer or even to talk about the mansion. It seemed that the spirit guarding the house is calling their souls once they borne any intention of going to that place.’ Great! So here we are migrating to a Trance Town!
‘Then what happen to those who went there?’ Can’t you figure that out silly? Of course they would be in trance or worst still, they died. Just as simple as that.
‘They would either died or get possessed which eventually brought them to death.’ See I told ya.
‘Isn’t there anyone who can stop this?’ Hey are we going to stand here all day talking about this possessing thing? Come on, my legs are aching and I need to sit. But not attending lessons is cool. Continue please!
‘We don’t know what exactly happen but after one particular incident, the town was back to normal. All the children who were possessed earlier on, recovered gracefully and everything is back to normal. I’m not trying to be rude here. I admit that its kinda rude to yawn but the whole crap is too cheesy. You know a lame story to make sure that your student gets to the books and not on any other stuffs. Maybe the whole place was just a junk and since they wanted to preserve it so this story comes alive.
Good plot. I’ll give 7 out of 10. Good job there old chubby!
‘So… the town is back to normal now?’ She can read my mind. I was about to ask the same question there. Well, great minds think alike. Not that I’m about to declare my sister is great or anything, coz she’s not!
‘Of course but there’s something which I need to warn you.’
‘What is it?’ At last I’m beginning to let my smooth voice flow to his eardrums. Ego talk again. Got to stop that. I’m a good person. I’m not all over myself.
‘I’ve warned all my students not to talk about that mansion in school or anything on any spiritual things here in my premises. That imply the same to the two of you. If I should come across anyone of you or even anyone from this school mentioning particularly about that mansion, I will not hesitate to punish you dearly, is that clear? Do I make myself clear enough here? Do I-‘’
‘Yes! Yes! We get it!’ We exclaimed in unison. Its pretty irritating to hear him keep repeating himself. Like what I’ve said, he’s Mr. Echo.
We started to walk again as he showed us the classes on the first storey. It was mainly for the Juniors. He brought us to the lunchroom. It was not that huge and not that small either but enough to occupy all the students.
Then we proceeded to the staff’s room where it seemed to be emptied at the time when Mr. Staton showed it to us except for a few clerks doing some admin works.
‘That room there is the Art room. And the one next to the ladies is the Science lab. For those taking dramas or literature, you will be going to the auditorium on the fifth floor. That staircase will lead you to the school hall where we did our school graduation ceremonies, our school concerts and many other functions.’ Fine! I got the idea on its function. Can we go now? I’m tired, I feel so weak that I could pass out at any time.
‘I see…so where’s my class?’ You should have asked him that earlier!
‘That’s right! We can’t wait to get to our classes!’ I supported Lyssa as I tried by all means to get my voice sounded so excited about school. I mean, for the first time that I have to sound excited about school.
‘But I still have many other interesting places to show you in this school-‘’
‘Its alright Mr. Staton, we can do this ourselves furthermore… we need to get familiarised with the place by ourselves and there’s no need for you to waste time showing us around.’ Said Lyssa.
‘Are you sure you don’t want me to show you all the places?’
‘Yes! I mean, its alright, we can do this by ourselves!’ I said, not knowing that I had actually raised my voice.
So, here’s my theory- any high school teenager with normal brain activities like myself would know that it’s plain stupid to raise your voice to the Principal nonetheless. So, why did I do it? I mean, this is not my sick, disillusioned mind at work…wait, back up a second there Nickster! So that’s IT! Yes, this is true, I AM sick! That would certainly explain the dry, sore throat, the mild headache (although it seemed nothing now, it’s gonna grow, trust me on this one), the short temper and I see a full blown cough and flu on the working. Therefor ladies and gentlemen, my show of ‘disrespect’ towards the Principal is understood. Although, I don’t think he knows all these, and that, once again, is not helping with the crisis of me being kicked out of his good book… and they say teenagers have no worries in the world!
‘If that’s the case, then let me show you your classrooms.’ Like doh! That’s what we’ve been waiting for after almost an hour walking around the school.
The first floor was mainly on the staff’s room, principal room and activities’ rooms. So we walked up to the second floor.
We continued until we reached to the last room. The room was closed just like any other rooms. Mr. Staton said that the teachers do not want to be disturbed by any noise as they teach the students. A distraction could be fatal for their future. So I guess I must be the dead man walking since I’ve had a lot of distraction from my previous schools.
Mr. Staton stopped on a few occasions checking on the classes. Can we kinda do this faster? I feel so awful now that I have to walk from one end to another.
He knocked on the door and an old lady came out with a white chalk on her hand. Don’t they use markers here? Oh boy, I’m gonna get chalk dust on my face now.
‘Oh good morning Mr Staton! Come on in.’ She greeted as she looked at us.
‘Good morning Mrs Spears. I’ve brought the new student with me here. She’s Miss Alyssa Carter from Merseyside. She would be with us starting from today.’
‘Oh that’s lovely! And she has such a lovely name too. Well… come in young lady, I’ll show you to the class.’ Continued the teacher, or Mrs Spears if I’m not mistaken.
I don’t have anything much to say about that Mrs Spears. She’s just being too sophisticated to be a teacher with her big hair-do, bright red gathers blouse to match her long black skirt with a pleat on the right. I wonder if that’s ‘in’ now.
‘Now… I’ll show you to your class…’ Said Mr. Staton as he led the way to the stairs.
We didn’t really talk as we got to the third floor. I saw a signboard on the wall stated as GRADUATING CLASSES - YEAR 3. It was big and eye-soaring especially with the colours combination of dull green and wordings in purple. Whoever painted that must be a real artist with all the colour blinds. At least change the whole colour. It totally looked out-dated.
We continued to walk further until we came upon the last classroom. It was the biggest and the noisiest of all the classes. There were loud laughters and sounds of people dragging the chairs coming from that class. There were even a few pieces of crumpled papers on the doorstep.
Mr. Staton stopped at the door step and looked at me. So much of your discipline huh? looks more like a wild thing going on here. Noisy, messy, untidy and rules-breaking… all those kind of stuffs, I like that!
At least I don’t have to remember where’s the basket or to adjust my volume!
‘This simply getting out of hands here!’ I know that! He opened the door and swung it wide open.
If it was not for this headache and restlessness inside me, I would have rolled down on the floor laughing at him for that speechless look.
This is gonna be fun! For all the troubles that you’ve been through to make sure that I’ll not get to this kind of class again, yet here I am in a new school but with the same old environment.
Sorry to disappoint you mom but thanks for bringing me here. I don’t care about the house, I don’t give a damn about the cursed of the mansion or anything about the town, as long as I can finish off my school in a way I want it and that’s it! Nothing else matters, well not basically all but so far nothing at all to convince me that this town is a place to stay in.
‘Goooood morning Sir!’ Oh that was fast! Mr. Staton led the way in and I tailed right behind him. Slowly I stepped my foot in, just like the slow motion stuffs they did in movies except that the whole ambience was totally different.
It was still noisy.
