Bob Dylan's Biography

Bob Dylan was an extremely talented person, he was an extremely talented musician but he was and even better song writer. A lot of the songs written in last generation probably your parent’s music was written by Bob Dylan. The music that he plays is mostly folk which involves a lot of harmonicas and acoustic guitars.

Little may you know Bob Dylan was Jewish up until the late 70's when he made the decision to convert to Christianity. His born name was Zimmerman when in the early 60's He decided to change his name to Bob. In the early 70's he considered moving to Kubbutz but never did. And in the late 90's he was studying with Lubavitch Hasidim.

Bob Dylan had made several trips to Israel because as mentioned earlier he was Jewish. While he was there he gave a concert or two. Though he made several trips he never stayed for a long period of time because he had his life back in America. Back in the day before he converted to Catholicism he was very pro Israeli.

He ended up converting to Christianity but not many people know why he did this. He said that the reason that he converted is because he was having a rougBob Dylanh time with drugs and especially alcohol, one night he was laying in his bed and he said that he felt a presence that had to be Jesus. He said that he felt him all over him which caused him to want to convert and as you well no if the Jewish belief was right then there was no possible way that Christ could have been in that room because the Jews say that he never rose from the dead, that is really one of the only things separating the Christians from the Jews. All of this is expressed in his album called "A Slick Slow Train Coming."

So as you can see Bob Dylan is a lot more than you may have ever thought that he was. I think that the biggest thing that a lot of people did not realize is all about his religion and how he converted to Catholicism. Bob Dylan is truly one of the most extraordinary people of everyone's time.

Despite what the world may think Dylan did go to college but he dropped out and moved to New York with two things on his mind. To play folk music in the village of Greenwich, and he also wanted to meet Woody Guthrie who was going to die soon of a nervous system disease. Dylan in turn wrote a song to his hero, and he called the song “Song to Woody”. He met both of his goals and became quite popular in the village among the people. It was in this village that Dylan really got his start in the music world.
