| Sum 41 were friends growing up in Ajax, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto. Deryck and Steve started the band in 1998 on the 41st day of summer vacation. That's how they got the name for the band. Then, Jay and Dave were recruited. |
| Island Records signed Sum 41 and they put out Half Hour of Power in June 2000. That summer they did Warped Tour. In May 2001, they released their first full-length album All Killer No Filler. |
