ok,u guys know by now i won a pair of passes to the Taufik's Thank You/Signing Party, which was held today. Only those who pre-ordered his cds get a chance to win. so hooray2 for me and kak lizah. four of us embarked on this exciting and fun-filled journey complete with laughter, sheer stupidity, madness, tears (ok, not realli) and of cos, Taufik. gez wat? urs truly reached dover mrt and suddenly remembered she didn't bring the coveted passes that wud gain entrance into the party. nicely done, Suzi. so me & yana rushed back hm in a taxi, Uncle, pls wait for me while i get my stuff and drive me back in a jiff to SP again. Thank u Uncle. And erm, drive faster please! we arrived unscathed @ 2:15 and the security asked, "supporters? ok, get in line." and oh my, the queue was damn long. doors supposed to open @ 2:30, but only got in @ 3pm. we weren't the star-karats tho we forgot our tixs. many fans were still yet to come. phew!

started off with a vid montage of him "touring" the cd stores, and yes, me & ma homies got our 3secs of fame. we were in the hmv-heeren part. waving like mad. nice! the MCs were 2 power 98 deejays (sorry, dunno the names lah! haha) who said "Taufik promised everyone will not leave w'out getting a one-on-one with him and their cds signed..so pls no pushing and shoving..." crowd went berserk upon hearing those words. also said his album sales closing to 24,000 copies and only 6,000 more to make it double platinum. something no local artist have ever achieved before. cool.

then the man himself came..very casually dressed in a green polo-tee and jeans..the entire mood after that was very much laid-back. had 2 games, a dance comp & a singing comp. of cos, taufik was the so-called "judge". during the singing part, he made it into a mini-spore idol thingy. 4 fans had to sing one his songs, then taufik gave his "comments". he actually took all 4 lines from the spore idol judges. first one,from Ken Lim. he lowered and peered thru his shades like Ken does, and when the crowd screamed, he turned ard to wave us to stop, just like Ken, again.. "There are 2 types of Taufik. One is the roti prata man, the other one is the idol. You...are the idol." *laughter* second one, from Dick Lee. "If i have a hat, i would take it off you." *laughter* U get the point. one girl sang "let's stay together" and she was damn good man. hit all the right notes. even taufik was impressed i'm sure.

Dance comp, he showed us some moves before 4 fans tried to follow his steps. (see vid) only took the one where he danced, but there's one malay girl who took part, and OH-MY-GOD, it was just hilarious. Think Michael Jackson style, plus flailing arms and non-rhythmic moves. Hilarious i tell u. I bet Taufik was trying his best not to cry. lol.

oh, a very sweet moment was when he invited his 2 bros on stage to "show the fans what they do @ home". told one of them to sing hindi, and the other to sing malay. the bro sang "tu je de ka to heh jana sanam.." REAL good. haha. the other one sang belaian jiwa, and then all 3 got into a harmony together @ the chorus. sweeeet!

moving on.., it was finally the signing session. row by row we went..the organizers was saying no pics WITH him, only OF him. but the first few fans obv didn't bother, and took pics with him. but it slowed down the process and by the time it was our turn, we cud only took pics of him. and so my glorious one minute with taufik came..

took a short vid of him while i was still in queue. the security guy told me to stand behind and take his vid if i want to, and started telling me to "get back". told him, "no! not yet! i want to take his pic lah!" haha. yana was first..he signed all 4 of our cds. i took a pic of that. then yana said, "taufik,bleh salam?" looked up and said, "eh bole bole.." lol. my turn. "taufik, tgk sini please." he finished signing one last cd, looked up, i aim and clicked. the only reason why the pic is blurred, is not because of my shivering hands (cos i wasn't shivering at all. haha) but becos he winked @ me while i was still looking @ my camera screen and pressing the button. i almost fainted. haha. he must have thot i was taking a vid, cos i didn't turn on the flash (for obv reasons). then shooked his hand.. "Thank You..good luck eh." he said "thank you" back while still shooking my hand and a huge megawatt smile still plastered on his face... so there u go. went home smiling..thinking of his firm handshake,flirty wink and autographed cd.. Taufik, you're the man. =)
