God is a psychological being. Since the begining of time humans have been pack creatures. Lacking the strength, weapons, and endurance to fight off most of the predators, humans banded together to fight larger creatures and use their combined mental powers to survive. They knew nothing of lightning and rain, flood and earthquake, fire and tornado. How do they explain this? Did they even wish to explain it? Well, this question requires us to look at humans today. In general mental functions, all humans are the same. Would science exsist at all if we really didn't wish to know how or why something happend? I think not. Also, both science and religion exsist for the purpose to explain why we exsist and how we came to be, and how the world works. In those early days when humans were weak compared to their enemys, they did the same thing we do today: Made God's. God's explained why things happend. Ironicly, in geek times Gods were dedicated to the unexplained things. God's of love, war, tempation, healing, childbirth, and ultimately they sued a God to explain Gods, the God of Gods Zues. Greek gods exsisted for the purpose of explanation. However, in Jewish, Catholic, and Muslim teachings there is one God who will bring you to heaven, and then there is a Devil or form of an evil being who will make you suffer after death. These teachings go beyond the general explanation usage and laps into controlling, which back when these religions were being formed was necessary because agriculture was just being discovered as a efficient way of living, instead of nomadism. Thus, humans found that their own species was now the new predator and threat, and religion was used to control the populous. When religions clashed however, violence erupted between them and so the modern day police and governments were formed. Governments are, and always been there for the express purpose of keeping order, just as religion was used at one time.
