Suzie Pfaff
Bassist

Biography

Suzie Pfaff grew up singing and dancing around the house and was constantly putting on plays for her family. She's been acting since as long as anyone can remember, but still felt like something in her life was missing. When she was in 1st grade she began playing the piano and in 6th grade quit for the clarinet. She made many other failed attempts at instruments such as the guitar (disaster) and the drums (she's not coordinated enough). Finally, in the winter of 2001 she went out for her last try at becoming a musician and bought an electric bass. In doing so she followed the tradition of her grandfather, who was a slap bass side man for the great swing bands of his day, Kristen Pfaff, late bass player in the band Hole, and Andy Pfaff, a well known bass teacher and musical theorist. At last! Something that came naturally. Although she had begun to practice her new bass ... she didn't really have a place to play it. She put it aside until the fall of 2002 when her friends Ryan Holden and Jack McDonald asked her to join their band. She wasn't sure that she was ready to play with a band that had such heavy music (and still isn't sure), but went to practice with them on that Saturday. She has been with the boys ever since.
