Show Review by Kristen Sadowski

It was a rather crisp, awakening autumn night in Providence, R.I. on Friday, October 12, 2001. For Providence College's very own band [acronym], it was an anxiously awaiting night because of a chance they had been given to ignite their talents in front of many with a hopeful strong performance at The Living Room.

A common happening hangout for bands to display themselves to the public, The Living Room brings about a sense of casualty and anything-goes type feeling. The four excited, anxiously enthralled guys of [acronym] set up quietly and within minutes it was time to take the stage in front of a much riled, anticipating crowd. With a gentle pluck on the strings of the guitar, the lights began twinkling a colossal of swirling colors and an intensifying explosion of magnificent sound graced throughout the room. Ed Healey and Nathan Everding composed such a harmonious balance along with heartfelt lyrics that flowed through their soothing voices while strumming their guitars. Paul Larochelle smoothed away every bit of nervousness with his mind-blowing sensational beats on the drums. Josh Ingemi, with his laid-back casual style expressed a sense of rhythmic delight on his bass. With every song they played starting with "Meet The General" followed by "New Year's Sun," "Completely Unattainable," "Breeze," "Far Away," "Two Sweet Lovers," "Junior Mints," "Special Girl," and ending with "One Who Learns," an amazing array of depth and endless passion completely circled around them during their performance.

With a strong sense of stage presence, it's like each individual's personalities can be appreciated and complimented among each other. [acronym] exhibits a unique sound unlike any other band. Primarily, I think this is something quite rewarding simply because you can sit there and try to capture and depict different sounds [acronym] relates to musically, but then along comes this undefining rhythm that leaves you baffled and clueless. They blend together a special richness of harmonious yet penetratingly compassionate lyrics that touch the heart and open up new doors for those that are graced with their sound and presence. It was quite a remarkable night for the guys of [acronym] as they blew away the minds of so many with just them being themselves, doing what they love, and being together. This is what true music does to you; it enraptures your soul and collectively inspires and sparks something new and something you've never experienced before. It's no wonder why these guys are incredible. They are true and genuine in every sense of the word. Best of luck to you guys and again, an amazing performance. Thank you for letting me be such a great part of it all.
