4th in the State of Texas!
Texas, the country's 2nd largest state, now think about it. All the middle school's in The Valley, then add Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Ft. Worth, Amarillo, El Paso, and then the thousands of more. 4th place out of all of that. The 1999-2000 Vela Middle School Symphonic Band did great. The best in the Valley, and the best rating from a school in the Valley since a long time. Everyone at Vela Middle School would like to congratulate everyone who competed at Honor Band, The '99-'00 Oliveria Symphonic Band, and The '99-'00 Besteiro Middle School Band. As a student, I would like to thank Mr. Dawson for pushing us to get to the top. Thanks for everything. And lets enjoy it!
