The "Vomitorial Corpulence" name comes from Revelation 3:15-16 in the Bible.
It's based around the idea that all of us are either "FOR GOD", or "AGAINST GOD".
Those in the church that don't fully submit themselves to God will be spewed out of God's mouth!
This reference is used specifically toward those that are part of God's Church.
"Corpulence" is just a long winded term for obesity.
The band name is like an alarm bell - a warning to all those in Jesus' church - reminding them to live as healthy christians.
Some people think the star shaped logo looks like a pentagram.
Look at it more carefully.
A pentagram has 5 sides.
Our logo is a six pointed star. It's a "V" and a "C".
Our VC logo has 6 edges, so it's actually more like a Star of David than a pentagram.
A record label called "Morbid Records" were very keen to sell the "Skin Stripper" album for us.
We sent them CD's to sell, but it seemed a lot easier to let them press the CD's instead.
The part we weren't happy about was they completely changed our original artwork, as well as removing all our lyrics from the albums they sold.
"Morbid Records" have never given us any money for our album which they sold.
This is a tough question to answer.
The "gore" aspect in our music was probably because of our interest in the GOREGRIND band, "CARCASS".
Grindcore (including "goregrind") is the scene which we are part of, musically - and in our imagery we chose to go with some gore.
1 Corinthians 9:22 says "I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some."
In this light, we were satisfied enough to release music that might reach the "unsaved" in this area.
Vomitorial Corpulence does not seek to glorify gore or violence! If anything, we are tending away from it in recent times.
When reading the Holy Word of God, we get the picture that God clearly abhors violence (the flood), however, the Bible itself also contains a great deal of (you guessed it) ...gore and violence!
It has some of the bloodiest and goriest stories you will ever read.
