In the Studio with T'in A'

So unless you've been living under a rock all summer, no doubt you've heard about the band that's been sweeping the nation: Truth In Advertising. well, Truth In Advertising, or "T in A" for short, recently granted me unprecedented, unrestricted access to the recording sessions that produced the award winning EP "The Monkey Corner Sessions." The following details my experiences with this unique band.

The band is composed of three young virile young men with incredibly hot packages. Seán O'Donnell, Aaron Rolka, and some third guy whose name is easily forgotten (I think it was Greg), each bring their own styles to the group. Seán brings the drug-ravaged stoner angle, Aaron the stupid jagoff angle, and Greg (or was it Johnny?) the look-at-me-I'm-starved-for-attention angle.

At the recording studio they all come together into a seamless whole, until they pick up their instruments. It is at that point the bickering begins. Words like "doodoo head," and "percolator face" are heard echoing off the walls. Once the actual recording begins it soon breaks down because none of these men has any real talent.

"Oh yes they are very talented," their producer Jason Curtus told me, "except for that they're not."

But the Hollywood community doesn't seem to share Mr. Curtus' opinion. T in A has been seen with a barrage of A-list Hollywood celebs like Ernest Borgnine, Ilia Kazan, and Johnny Petraglia. But has all this attention changed these plucky youths. "Hells yes," in Aaron Rolka's' words, "but if I can afford to baith in Snapple, and do every chance I get, does that make me a bad person? I don't think so, stupid!" Too true, Aaron too true.

As time goes by people will look back on the time before there was Truth In Advertising; a time when three young men from Pittsburgh had a dream; a dream to sell shaved monkeys over the internet. And when that fell through a dream to be a band. Keep on dreamin' boys like the true Americans you are!
