Welcome to the online home of Almost Surreal, an acoustic duo recording and performing original "unplugged" music which falls somewhere between Concrete Blonde and Alanis Morrisette...

Almost Surreal's original material uses powerful female vocals over a foundation of progressions and rhythms normally not associated with acoustic projects. Our mission is to articulate emotions normally reserved for heavier bands, by using every expression a Takemine acoustic can deliver, and layering the rhythms with harmonies which go from dark, brooding reflections to soaring resolutions in the space of six strings and two mics.

In support of the passion to create music, we indulge another passion... live performances... we perform acoustic renditions of over 120 songs, primarily from the past decade, and spanning the genres of "unplugged" rock, country, pop, and folk. Surreal uses a professional PA system, with "mood" lighting, and the stark power of female & male vocals and harmonies, over acoustic guitars...
