Biemvindos to the Tennis Section
You know how parents and older people always say that sports help children expand their horizons, or something like that? Well, a few years ago I didn't believe that. But then I decided to join the tennis team, mainly because they didn't cut people and it looked great on college applications. That just about changed my life. Once I joined the team, I realized that those people who said sports were good for you were right!
So many things happened to me because I joined the team. I never realized it, but all of a sudden people started to say that I was becoming more outgoing. For some reason my grades improved a little even though I spent less time on homeowrk than before, but hey......I'm not complaining.
Possibly the greatest thing that tennis has done for me was to provide me with lifelong friendships with many people that I would never know if I wasn't on the team. We share endless memories of games and practices. You think that tennis is a boring sport, and it is if you're watching it. But if you are a part of it, the fun never stops.
This year's team was filled with many new people and even more returning players. The bus trips to the games were Never boring. People made up many cheers for the team and individual members to raise moral in long, difficult matches (thanks guys...it helps!!!) and no matter where we ended up, we made ourselves seen in one way or another. Oh, I can't forget the one thing that probably made all of the fun possible -- the addition of another coach....Mr. Milo. He seems like a calm guy, but deep down he's not, and, uh, it totally showed this season. This year was the best year so far, and hopefully we can out-do ourselves next season!!
Pump, pump, pump it up
Pump that Pirate spirit up.
Keep, keep, keep it up
Keep that Pirate spirit up.
Gooooooo Pirates!!!!!
(one of our cheers)
