1) What are you guys currently working on? Right now, we're putting together a huge promo campaign for press,
management, endorsement and labels for the new EP, "timeandplace". We
are also writing new material which we hope to record by the end of the
month.
2) How long have you guys been rockin the scene? We've been a band for about a year and a half, regularly and
furiously playing the live circuit since November of 2002. We just got
back form playing in LA and are planning a west coast tour for early
October.
3) What are your guy's current recordings? The first 5 song EP "timeandplace" is independently available at
our shows, on our website, and very soon to be placed for national
distribution. We are looking to record a short 3 song demo of new
material before we go and record a full-length sometime next year.
4) Does your band have any ideals you stand strong for? The name of the band alone, "eightfold path" hints at Buddhist
themes of self actualization and maturity/enlightment. We take from its
foundation in a spiritual and idealistic sense rather than religious.
We find strong values in honesty, integrity, positivity and respect
towards everyone around us, especially families, fans and friends. Our
biggest upheld value is to never give up, to take our dreams all the
way and make them reality.
5) What has been your best show?
Probably opening up for Hopesfall, Every time I Die, and The
Beautiful Mistake. We were added to the bill the day before because of
an 'incident' the opening band on the tour was involved in. It was a
very solid crowd and we were very happy with our performance.
6) Any upcoming shows?
Right now there isn't much scheduled. We are busy getting dates
confirmed for the tour with Immortal Records act No One. Stay tuned for
those dates on our website. September 13th we will be playing in our
hometown in Livermore. It's always a pleasure to be able to play with
your friends close to home.
7) What are your guys’ biggest influences? Our music is very diverse, with elements of metal, rock, hardcore,
and alternative. You can hear influences from bands like Deftones,
Dredg, Glassjaw, ZAO, Faith No More, 36 Crazy Fists, Vision of
Disorder, and many more. Our brand new stuff that we're not done
writing yet is heavier yet more atmospheric/stoner rock in certain
aspects, inspiration includes Cave In, Failure, Blood Has Been Shed and
more. But our influences range from Cannibal Corpse to Bob Marley.
8) Any plans for the future?
We'll be seeking and closing out deals for management, record
contract, more tours, radioplay, endorsements, playing more label
showcases, and ofcouse: money and hoes, lol.
9) Anyone you want to give props to? Chris from Energy Musik, Todd at Open Wound Skateboards, Grace at
D1 Music Network, Jason of Anaya Photography, Driving the Effect, Happy
Ending, Something Must Die, Hostile Groove, Esoteric, My Beautiful
Secret, Sora, and basically every band we've ever played with. And, of
course, our fans.
10) Are you guys down with the SickRush? Anyone actively pursuing the betterment of the scene and promoting
local bands and shows deserves a lot of respect. Much love.
