The Prides Lottery draw was not won this week, and the rollover prize for next week will be £175. See any band member for details of how to enter.
The Pride accompanied the local Juvenile Orange Lodge on their Church parade to Greengairs. Setting off in fine weather from Clarkston, the Pride played very well and were a credit to their religion and culture. The Pride would like to thank the Juvenile Lodge for the opportunity to play for them and commend them on the dignity and composure of their young members. We would also like to thank the Lodge officials for the manner in which they handled the parade. A certain official from Port Glasgow could learn a lot from the Orangemen of Airdrie.

The Pride of Clarkston escorted the mourners to the funeral of the late Bro. David Kennedy. The band would take this opportunity to express their sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Bro. David on their sad loss.

An early start for the Pride as they accompanied the local Juvenile Orange Lodge on their annual parade and rally. A short parade to Airdrie Orange hall, where 3 lodges and bands, headed by the Pride set off on a parade around Airdrie, which included a wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph. We then made our way to Holytown for the main parade and rally, where large numbers of locals had turned out to see Orangeism parade its rising stars. On our return to Airdrie the lodges, again headed by the Pride, paraded from Central Park to the Orange hall, where the Pride were left to continue their march back to Clarkston. Huge numbers of people lined the streets to greet the Pride as they paraded in Airdrie, with an Airdrie Lodge, for the first time in 3 years. The Pride were given a very warm welcome back to Clarkston and would like to pay tribute to all their supporters, who greeted every tune with fervent applause and cheering.
The Prides lottery jackpot of £175 was not won, and the rollover prize for next week, June 23rd, will be £225. See any band member for tickets.

The Pride completed a busy week by accompanying Salsburgh LOL no. 26 on their parade to church service. Although we were short on numbers, we played well and were once again delighted to accompany the Brothers and Sisters of Salsburgh. We would also like to point out the deplorable behaviour of the Scum element of Salsburgh, who insisted on singing their Fenian songs as we passed, even though the Pride played nothing stronger than Abide With Me. Well done, you showed where the real bigotry lies. AGAIN!!!!

June 20th
A most sensational event happened in Airdrie today. A brilliantly lit spaceship, with colours from all the spectrum, descended upon Airdrie town centre. From the bowels of this monolith came 5 strange creatures, dressed all in blue and carrying weapons of mass destruction. They asked for a meeting with the rulers of Airdrie, and the Council immediately sent for the Pride of Clarkston. Fearlessly, the Pride entered the strange craft, the doors closed behind them, and with a thunderous roar the spaceship sped towards the stratosphere. Then, from out of nowhere, came a message from the Aliens, "Fear not good citizens of Airdrie. The Pride are needed to save the Universe from the vile inhabitants of the evil planet Papisher. We will return triumphant in time for the Boyne celebrations in Harthill on July 7th. End of message, adieu Earthlings"

Actually, that story is not all true, if truth be told I made it up. The reality is that The Pride have no engagements from now until the 7th July. No engagements = no news. So if its all right for The Daily Sport ( which I have never read, honest!!!!!) to make up stories, then its all right for me to do it too.

7th July
Well, what can I say, come the most important day of the year and the heavens opened. Harthill saw a deluge that would have frightened Noah. The Pride set off from Airdrie at 7.30am in pouring rain, and arrived back in Airdrie at 7.30pm in pouring rain. We played reasonably well despite the weather and a good day was had by all. That evening we had a Blue Night which went very well. The Pride again managed to consume vast amounts of alcohol and a good night was had by all.
