For Those of You Who Have Never Heard of Hello Dave or The Nadas

It's cool... There's always a first for everything... Now is the best time to check either of these two bands out... for they are heading straight to the top, and for those of us who have been along for the ride, it has been entertaining to say the least. Hopefully this page will give you some of the info you need to get a head start on enjoying the music these bands put out. For more info CD by CD, visit the hyperlink of the band you wish to learn more about. I have put a fairly detailed discography up for each band, so you can use that as well.

Hello Dave

So you are looking for more about Hello Dave? Well there is no better place to start than your local record store. Hello Dave's music has been distrubuted throughout the midwest and now further across the states, as more and more stores have had customers demand some Hello Dave cd's. For me, there was no better place to start than the song "Golden". This up beat tune is a Hello Dave classic, and has become a fan favorite all around. You can find this song easily on Napster, as a few live versions have surfaced on the site as well.

So you've downloaded "Golden", you just love it, and you want to hear more and decide which HD cd's you'd like to start out with... Most people enjoy West as their original Hello Dave starter... Not so! Try the band's new cd Wicked Revelry first. Why? #1 it is a great mix of live songs... yet the sound is so good it sounds as if it were recorded in a studio #2 the national attention surrounding this album has been great. Fans get a glimpse of the different musical tastes Hello Dave combines in their music. Rock, country, folk, blues, ect... This album is a must have... want to get a glimpse of the album 1st? Then check out these songs: "Saturnalia" "Sweetness" and "Summertime". Then build from there. I'd suggest the album West as your second Hello Dave album. This release is a fan favorite, and many of the songs on the album have radio-potential. The go with 16 tons, (my personal favorite) and you get a mix of jam songs... more of a bluesy album.

Been wondering who's singing that great accoustic rock that's floating all over Napster... It's The Nadas... Napster has been good to the Nadas, as thousands of people have downloaded and passed on their music, creating even more of a legion of fans. This band is just a great experience, both on your personal stereo or at a live show. The vocals, the writing, the instruments, people want to hear The Nadas... and they have responded with four excellent releases piled full of wonderful songs anyone can enjoy.

Where do I start? That's easy... Download a song called "Where I'm Going" onto your mp3 player and enjoy. From there you'll want more and more... So go out and purchase Coming Home the band's 4th and latest release... This album is just amazing. From song to song. Singers/Guitar Players Mike Butterworth and Jason Walsmith take their turns at writing songs, and the blend from song to song is just phenomenal on this album. You can also find some live covers on Napster after you have created a decent musical background on the band. I'd recommend thier cover of the Jackopierce classic "Vineyard". But first get a feel for both Walsmith's and Butterworth's song wirting, and you'll be forever hooked!
