MY CDR Trading

I'd be happy to trade with anyone interested in the same genres of music I am interested in. I'll go for anything from Ben Harper to Guns N' Roses to Garth Brooks. I've just started a collection and have a short list to date that will hopefully increase in quantity over the next few months. My rules are just be honest and send the packages as quickly as possible. If you are starting a collection and would like a BNP of anything I have- just e-mail me before hand to see if I will be able to have time to get the discs to you. I've tried to make the list easy to understand and find some good personal info you can use in selecting shows you might be interested in.

Current Wants/Interests: Guns N' Roses, The Nadas, Garth Brooks, JackoPierce, Domestic Problems, Hello Dave, Phish, DMB, Ben Harper, Hootie and The Blowfish, Guster, Bela Fleck and The Flecktones, The Samples, Poison, Metallica, Blues Traveler, Grateful Dead, Guster, Counting Crows, Jimi Hendrix, and any other band that plays great live shows- just e-mail me bmallen@iastate.edu if there is a show you have from a band not on here that you would like to trade with. Always e-mail me to start a trade-I use digital audio CDR's only- if you don't know what these are- they are not the kind used for computer burners-e-mail me with your questions.

Expecting a Bob Dylan show with very good quality this week. Really want Pat Mcgee Band and Jackopierce shows right now.

Blues Traveler- State Theatre, New Brunswick, NJ (5-1-95) 2 discs- B+ quality- great set list... kind of quiet but overall a good show with some of BT's best songs. John Popper sounds great. Includes "Run Around" "Mountains Win Again" "Hook" and "Price to Pay".

Counting Crows- Woodstock 1999 Rome, NY. 1 disc. (A- quality). The quality is really good for this show, and the crowd volume is just about right. It containst ten of their best and a follow up interview at the end. Features "Mr Jones" "Long December" "Murder of One" "Rain King" and "Hanging Around".

Bob Dylan-Purdue/Indiana U November 2000. 2 discs (A- quality) Very good disc- although Bob is getting pretty old he is still one of if not the greatest songwriter ever. This discs has a lot of the good ones-but you can really tell he's aged quite a bit. Includes "Like A Rolling Stone" "All Along The Watchtower" "Blowin In the Wind" and many more.

Garth Brooks "The Hungry Years" (Taped demo from 1986) 1 disc- C- quality. For Garth fans, this is very entertaining. This is a demo featuring some of Garth's favorite covers before he struck gold in the recording industry. The quality is just piss poor, but the set list is good. Very scratchy and unclear, unless you are a Garth die-hard, I wouldn't recommen it. Includes "Mrs. Robinson" "Cats In the Cradle" "Piano Man" and "Much Too Young".

Guns N' Roses-"The Accoustic Sessions" (Previous GNR accoustic shows during LA club shows in the mid 80's) 1 disc- B- quality. The quality varies from A to C... the set list is great... all of the songs from the 1987 release "GNR Lies". With a few from Appetite and some covers. All done with Izzy and Slash playing straight accoustic guitars... sounds great. Includes "Mr. Brownstone" "Crazy" "Knockin On Heaven's Door" and "Patience".

Ben Harper-ACT Theatre, Seattle, WA (4/6/98) 1 disc- A+ quality- This show is unreal. It's Ben solo, and I think he is one of the best artists out there. The set list is great, includes: "Waiting on an Angel" "Jah Work" "Glory and Consequence" "Burn One Down" "Sexual Healing" and "Not Fire, Not Ice" I doubt you could find a better Ben solo show.

Hello Dave-Vic Theatre, Chicago, Ill (4/1/00) 2 discs- B- quality- unfortunately this show's quality is not very good. The sound is distorted in areas and the audio is soft, making it hard to hear the bands vocals. But the set list is unreal. I will try my hardest to get some new HD shows out there because there shows are just too good. Includes "Golden" "Biminy" "Saturnalia" "Candy" and "Mountains".

Hootie and The Blowfish- MTV Unplugged- The Horseshoe in Columbia, SC (4/19/96) 1 disc- B+ quality. Quite a good show- I enjoy the unplugged series and was disappointed this was not produced into an album. If you are a fan of Hootie's stuff- this is a must have. Includes some covers and the goodies from "Cracked Rear View" like "Hold My Hand" "Time" "Let Her Cry" and "Running From an Angel".

Dave Matthews Band-Mile High Stadium, Denver, CO (7/25/00) 2 discs- C quality. This show was just given to me for nothing. It's got a great set list, but it's not seperated into tracks and the audio is bad. Wouldn't recommend it- I could get a better copy if you are interested in this particular show.

Bonner Springs, KS (9/20/00) 2 discs- A quality. Would be A+ quality if it wasn't as quiet as it is. The show was great, I attended, and this copy is the best around. Does a great job of collecting the energy during the show. Plus it includes some great cuts with Bela and The Flecktones. Includes "So Much Too Say" "Watchtower" "Crash" "Bartender" and "Ants Marching". I think this copy and show is one of the best you can find from the 2000 summer tour.

The Nadas-Lakeview Links, Chicago, Ill (7/9/99) 2 discs. A- quality- This show has great quality and captures a portion of the creativity and energy the Nadas bring to the stage during their live shows. The set list is A+. Includes "Cry" "Daisy" "Let Me Sleep" "Ends Meet" and "My Monica".

Run For Cover-2 discs- B quality. This is a combination of the cover songs the Nadas have performed during the course of their live tapings. Audio varies from show to show. Includes "Vineyard" "Indiana" "What I got" "Angel From Montgomery" "Let it Be" and "Land Down Under".

New Start Demos- 1 disc- B quality. This disc is the recordings the Nadas did before recording their second album "New Start". Quality is ok, but many of the songs sound like they do on the album. It does have a unreleased track titled "1,000 Words" which is very good. Includes 2 versions of "So Sad", a slide guitar version of "Storm" and and a live version of "Ghost".

River City Folk Interview, Ohmaha, NE. A- quality. The show's quality is great, but the track seperation is off quite a bit, making it frustrating. The show is just Jason and Mike, and they play all acoustic which is great. They also brought along recordings from their favorite artists they play between each Nadas song. Includes "Coming Home" "Wolf" "Cry" "Mi Corazon" and "Let Me Sleep".

OAR- 1 disc- House of Blues (11/17/00) B+ quality. Pretty good band. Just getting started with their material, but they are alright. Includes "city on down" "if she only knew" and "poker". Just 7 songs.

Phish- Long Island, NY. (10/7/99) 3 discs. B+ quality. Great set list, great show. The sound is not CD quality, so that's why it is a B+. But it is very good! A whole bunch of jam sessions and Phish classics. A good start to a Phish show collection. Includes "Julius" "NICU" "Gotta Jibbo" "Heavy Things" "David Bowie" and many more.

Tom Petty- Vh1 Storytellers (Includes 2 SNL performances) 3/31/99 [1 disc] A- quality. Good show with a good set list. If you like Petty's newer material, from late 80's till now, you'll enjoy this show. Has a good set list, and the quality is good. Includes "Free Fallin" "You Don't Know How It Feels" "Into The Great Wide Open" and "You Wreck Me".
