ABOUT DALBY

Hoogie's DALBY sunset!

Dalby is located 210 kms north west of Brisbane on Warrego Highway in the heart of the Darling Downs. It is the thriving centre of a cotton, barley and grazing industry, with a population of about 10,000 people, 14 pubs and lots of Christian billboards.

There is not a lot for the young ‘uns to do. All Hoogie festivals are non profit, and previous Hoogie Festivals have raised money for youth concerts and funded the construction of a rather elaborate skate park, which has provided not only a ‘youth space’, but also a ‘we-wish-we-were-still youth’ space.

GETTING THERE

HOOGIE BUSES
Buses will be leaving Brisbane's Roma Street on the morning of 4 November and travelling to Hoogie. The buses will return on the same night, dropping you back off at Roma Street... Enquiries can be directed to the Dalby Youth Council on 07 4660 6152.

Getting to Dalby is very easy from Brisbane. Simply follow the signs to Ipswich and Toowoomba on the Western Freeway or any other western roads. Once you have reached Toowoomba, Dalby is a short drive through the Downs along the Warrego Highway.

Once you hit Dalby, turn left at the third set of traffic lights on the main road to reach the showgrounds.

Food stalls will be operating throughout the day, offering all the tastes you desire.

DALBY YOUTH COUNCIL

Dalby Youth Coucil 2000

The Dalby Youth Council (DYC) is a proactive group of 12-18 year olds who are advised by a number of adults. This group strives towards their goal of creating ‘youth space’ within the community of Dalby.

You will be able to identify DYC members at Hoogie 2000 by their distinctive t-shirts… If you see them, give them a pat on the back for doing a fantastic job!

Pat on the back!
