Unfortunately, it's going to require a long stretch for the D#/Eb. It would look something like this: G5 D# Bb5 C5 N.C. 1:------3-3----------- 2:------4-4----------- 3:------3-3--3---5--0- 4:-5-5--1-1--3---5--0- 5:-5-5--1-1--1---3--0- 6:-3-3--------------0- The last strum of open zeros can also be played as just another C5. You can also get rid of that long D# stretch for the 1's by just playing (xxx343). Also, Dave plays the verse like the second tab posted here, but it sounds pretty bad on an acoustic. To make it easier, you can just play this progression: G7 F7 C 1:-3---1----- 2:-3---1---5- 3:-4---2---5- 4:-3---1---5- 5:-5---3---3- 6:-3---1----- It's not perfect, and it's not how I think they play the song, but it sounds decent. Finally, somewhere I saw it posted this way for the pre-chorus, and it's definitely right. The secret is that the last chord played is a C9, an uncommon chord.
