Chapter Eight:
Performances

"Come on Fox... now it's your turn to know what I'm talking about." I replied sadly.

"I spilled my guts and told you how much I like you, so what do you expect me to say now?" he asked.

"I don't know. But you're mad at me, I know that. You didn't even dance with me on stage." I told him.

"I'm sorry. I'm... well, I guess I'm... I guess I'm jealous." he admitted. That's one of the things I love about him, he's not afraid to admit things like that.

"Why, though? I don't like Nick, I don't even know him." I replied.

"I don't know. But I liked when you held my hands and giggled at me and stuff, and then you did the same things with him." he told me.

"Oh, I'm so sorry for making you jealous. I don't want to hurt you, Fox." I told him, moving closer.

"I'm sorry too... let's not fight, ok? I don't ever wanna be mad at you." he told me.

"I don't wanna fight with you either. And since we have two months together, we're gonna have to be best friends!" I laughed, and we both stood up. He took another step closer and pulled me into a tight hug.

"So you're not mad at me?" I asked.

"No, I never really was..." he replied.

"Good." I said.

"And you won't flirt with Nick anymore, will you?" he asked. I gulped.

"No... not if it makes you jealous." I told him with a smile.

"Good." he said.

Suddenly we heard, over the loud speaker,

"Now, everyone knows and loves this 13-year-old pop sensation! Please welcome our youngest performer, Aaron Carter!"

"Oh man, I wanna go watch him, wanna come with me?" I asked him.

"Well, ok." he said. I took ahold of his hand and he grinned.

Then we left and ran over to the girls, who were jumping up and down to Aaron singing one of his new songs Aaron's Party (Come Get It). They were closer to the stage than should be, I knew that. But they didn't get in trouble. I looked and saw Aaron wearing shiney green pants and a white tank top. He had four dancers onstage with him, two female and two male. They were so good, Aaron always put tons of energy in every show. We watched that song, and I just still holding Fox's hand in mine. Joey nudged me and I just kinda nodded at her, telling her everything was ok with us. After that song, he introduced himself again, and his dancers. They were Nonnie, Nicole, Stephan and Michael. Then he talked to the fans for a minute, and then he started his second song, I Want Candy. During that song, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around slowly and found Nick (what a surprise!) smiling at me. He looked down and saw I was holding Fox's hand. Then he leaned close and whispered in my ear,

"Can I talk to you?"

"Um, sure..." I said, although I really wanted to watch Aaron, "Fox, I'll be right back ok? I promise." I asked Fox. He gave me a weird look, but nodded.

Then I followed Nick away from the crowd. When we were pretty much alone, he took my hand in his and said,

"You're not going out with that dancer of yours, are you?" It was more like a statement than a question.

"Oh, no... Fox is like my best friend, why?" I wondered, worried that I already knew the answer.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to go out sometime... so we could talk and get to know each other better?" he asked cutely.

"Wouldn't that be hard, on the tour?" I asked, trying not to sound too interested. But how could I refuse this guy? Hot, sweet, and so nice. Plus, I was single.

"Well, we do have a two-day break in a few days, while we're in... I think New York." he smiled.

"Really?" I asked, and he nodded. "Awesome, sure, maybe we could go out sometime." I finished.

"Great... well now I really gotta go get ready to go on, the guys are probably looking for me." he laughed.

"Alright, I'll be watching the show, good luck." I smiled.

"Thanks... see ya." he said, gave me another hug and then took off in the other direction.

So I went right back over to Fox. He gave me the same look that he gave me before I left with Nick.

"What did he want?" he asked a little harshly. I know he didn't mean to sound like that, but he was so jealous.

"Nothing, don't worry about it, ok?" I replied with a faint smile. He knew something happened. But he didn't want to make a big deal out of it, so he didn't say anything else.

We watched the rest of Aaron's performance, which was two more songs, Tell Me What You Want and he ended with Bounce. He was really, really talented, and so hyper. He thanked the audience and ran off the stage. I checked my watch, and it was 9:50pm. The show was over at 10:30pm, only Christina Agularia was after BSB. Then we were all going on stage together. So, Aaron ran off the stage and into Nick's arms.

"Hey buddy, you were awesome!" Nick yelled.

"Thanks Nick, now go! You've gotta go on!" Aaron laughed as he watched his brother ran up onto the stage with the other BSB.

"Aaron, you rule! You are way better than us!" Joey told him, giving him a big hug.

"Well, keep in mind I've been performing like this for over three years." he grinned.

We all nodded and hugged him again. Then he had to go shower and get changed again. So he left with his mom and a bodyguard. So the five of us girls, and the dancers, stood around to watch the beginning of the BSB's performance. Again the loud voice over the speakers said,

"Now, one of the biggest, hottest, groups in the whole world, please give it up for the Backstreet Boys!"

I couldn't believe how loud the screams got. I watched with a smile as the lights shot on and Brian sung the first line of their first song, called Everyone.

"We've been through days of thunder, some people said we don't belong..."

It was a new song off their new album Black and Blue. Then they sung another song off of Black and Blue called The Answer To Our Lives. Then they took a short break and introduced themselves.

"Hello Orlando!" Howie called to the crowd.

"We're glad to be home in Florida again, ya'll are the best!" Nick screamed. Damn, he looked so good.

"And, we hope you all have the new album by now. It's called Black and Blue. Here's another song from it, it's called The Call." Brian yelled as more music started playing.

"Man... I'm hungry." I said, as my stomach grumbled.

"There's fruit in the mini fridge, in the dressing room." Dare told me. I smiled.

"Thanks, I'll be right back." I told her, and she nodded.

I turned around and started walking slowly.

"Fay, where are you going?" Fox asked. I grinned and turned back around.

"I'm just going to grab some fruit, I'm starving." I replied. "You can come if you want."

"Alright." he said and followed behind me to our dressing room again.
