LETTER FROM THE BOOSTER PRESIDENT, BOLTON HIGH SCHOOL BAND
From: Beverly Hale
Date: June 5, 2000
Subj: Competition, Lock-In, Fundraiser, Game, etc.
I have some important information on a variety of subjects. Please read
carefully.
- Cherrydale Farms Fundraiser money is due Friday, October 13th. Please make
checks payable to Bolton Band Boosters. Awards and prizes will not be handed
out to the students until all money is collected.
- The band will NOT go to the football game on Friday, Oct 13th at Jackson
Central Merry. This will allow students to be well rested for the competition
on Saturday. The band will stay after school on Friday to practice once more
before the competition. The practice should be over around 4:00 or so,
depending on how well the practice goes.
- The lock-in for the students will be on Friday night, October 20th, in the
school cafeteria after the home football game. The lock-in will be basically
the same as last year, e.g.: DJ, Videos, Food, Dancing, etc. More information
will be sent on the lock-in later. If you are interested in chaperoning the
lock-in, please contact me. (The chaperones really did have a good time last
year, too!)
- The band will compete in it's final marching competition this year on
Saturday, Oct 14th at Obion County, TN. They will perform at 12:45pm. Let me
encourage each of you to come and support your kids and your band. Some of the
Moms are organizing a Bolton cheering section as crowd response does have a
bearing on the judges score. Besides that, we want to show the kids we support
them. Wear your Bolton blue or white and look for our group and sit with us.
The band is sharper than ever and this competition will be an important one
for them. They have an excellent chance of placing well and beating some of
our rival bands. Please don't miss this last competition. (Don't forget to
bring a picnic lunch!)
- The Yankee Candle Fundraiser will begin within the next 2 weeks. More info
will be announced as quickly as I can get it together.
If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.
Thanks,
Beverly
P.S.: Directions and a detailed itinerary for the Obion competition can be
found on the band's website on the Performance page and the Directions page.
If you don't find it, let me know.
