Also, I put up two new articles: One w/ Paul, and one w/ Adam!
Finally, I put up 8, EIGHT, new Rob pics! So go check it out!
It is a cd-audio biography, which is spoken by Sian Jones and is approximately 55 minutes. The cover is that picture of the band where they're near some tress, and Paul has a ciggy in his hand, and Kyle has that brown and white tight shirt on... Anyway, the thing also comes w/ a mini poster of that same picture, except Kyle's head is down :*(
And the cd booklet has a picture of Rob on the back, another pic of Rob on the "front of the back page" if you understand that, ANOTHER long picture of Rob, and then a picture of the band...all of the pics of Rob are during concerts! Also, on the back of the jewel case, is the band performing live!
okay, I havent listened to the cd yet, but here is the order and title:
1. introduction
2. the homeless guy <--- rob
3. matchbox zygote <--- tabitha's secret
4. a man called pookie <---- duh! pookie
5. little drummer boy <--- pauly
6. hashbrown <---- adam
7. guitar boy genius <----- kyle
8. breaking the scene
9. grammys and santana
10. mad album
11. cool bands don't sell records
Now, those are the real titles, I know they're a little silly!
And also, the cd is an unauthorized bio, but I bet it's pretty acurate :o)
I got the cd at Borders, but you can order the cd off of amazon.com, but I here it is on backorder :*(
I put the article up at the Articles/Interviews section, so go check it out :o)
Also, I don't have a computer right now, so all I can do is add pictures and some news. So I don't know when I'll have the other parts of the site up (i.e. Tabitha's Secret and Links) I need my damn computer! Sorry...I hate it too! :*(
Rob won the Billboard's Hot 100 songwriter of the year award during this past week's Billboard Music Awards. Congrats Rob!
Here is a short article about Rob and his other projects:
Rob Thomas, lead singer/songwriter of matchbox twenty and Billboard's Hot 100 songwriter of the year, has written a song with Phil Vassar that will appear on the country artist's next album and has talked with both Willie Nelson and Mick Jagger about writing for their forthcoming projects. However, he said he doesn't want to write by himself for an unspecified singer. "I can't see myself sitting at home and writing for someone else without them. I couldn't handle the rejection." --- So expect to see a lot of Rob, coming soon!
Here is another short article from CDNOW.com about Rob (and his hair):
Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas, who won two awards, was called on his haircut by a member of the press. "The mullet? This isn't a mullet, man! What are you, high?" We have to agree with Thomas here, who was certainly not sporting the white trash 'do. We'd describe it as a tousled, shaggy early '70s rock look, instead. Anyway... Matchbox Twenty is planning a major city tour in February. --- INCASE YOU DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE ARTICLE, IT IS SAYING THAT THE BAND'S NEXT TOUR IS THIS FEBRUARY!!! YAYAYAYYAYAY!!!
One more article, except this one really doesn't have to do w/ mb20...it just has to do w/ Moon Unit Zappa, who is Paul's fiance/wife, and it involves Pauly's safety!:
Zappa Death Threat: FBI
Moon Unit Zappa, the daughter of late musician Frank Zappa, apparently received death threats from a man who claimed that she and her father stole lyrics from him for their 1982 song "Valley Girl." ("Fer shure" was a repeated refrain.)Mark Brownfield, 40, allegedly mailed a package of documents to an FBI office in Southern California in which he threatened to kill Zappa. On Thursday he was ordered held without bail. On Monday he faces arraignment on a count of mailing a threatening communication. The Associated Press attempted to reach Zappa for comment but was not successful, though a U.S. attorney said she was aware of the messages. --- Let's hope they're both okay!!
And finally, the cd biography of mb20 that was supposed to be on sale Dec 7, is now going to be on sale Dec 12. It's called Maximum Matchbox Twenty and it is $10.99. It includes an 8-page colour booklet and it is an audio biography. Get your order in now!
Also, I'm sorry to say, that mb20 did not win any of the 3 awards that they were nominated for during the My VH1 Music Awards...but that's okay!
And finally, because it took me so long to get those pictures up, I don't know when I'll have the Tabitha's Secret or Other mb20 Sites part of the site up...but I'm hoping for before the new year! :o)
For starters, there are 4 magazines that any certain member/members of the band is/are in:
Performing Songwriter--- Long, Long interview/article w/ Rob...Rob is on the cover w/ Dar Williams and John Hiatt. November 2000 issue.
Bass Player--- One paged article/interview w/ Pookie w/ ONE NEW PICTURE. December 2000 issue w/ Adam Clayton on the cover.
RollingStone--- One paged article/interview w/ Rob w/ ONE NEW AWESOME PICTURE of the band!! The band is in this article because they are one of RollingStone's People of the Year!! December 14-21, 2000 issue w/ the Backstreet Boys on the cover.
Guitar World--- Long, long article/interview w/ Rob, Kyle, and Adam w/ 4 studio pictures, 3 of them are new! The Beatles or Papa Roach are on the cover (there are two different covers but they are the same magazine!) January 2001 issue.
All of these magazines can be bought at Borders.
I put up all 4 of those articles as well as the interivew w/ Rob from the first official fanclub newsletter. However, angelfire is being a bitch and will not upload my pictures!! I have 17, SEVENTEEN new pictures, but I cannot upload them! Once I figure out the problem, I will put the pix up!
And last: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM!!! Today is Adam's b-day!! I'm not sure if he's turning 36 or 37 because I thought he was turning 36 but a magazine said "The 36-year old Gaynor...." which would make Adam 37 today but oh well whatever! I hope he has a wonderful b-day!!
Since I have a long weekend, I hope to put up the Performing Songwriter interview and pictures, the interview w/ Rob from the Fan Club package, and maybe the Tabitha's Secret part of the site...Let's see what I actually get done :o)
WOW LOOK AT THIS: The indie picture "NOW YOU KNOW", written and produced by Jeff Anderson of "CLERKS"/"DOGMA" fame and set to shoot in January, 2001. As of right now, the picture will have a cameo apperance by indie director Kevin Smith and Rob Thomas, lead singer of the rock band Matchbox 20, is attached as one of the supporting roles as well as providing new music for the film's soundtrack.
Matchbox Twenty were asked to do the films soundtrack back in August. They are hoping (they meaning the film's producers, etc.) that they will have a NEW song recorded for that film.
Robs possible apperance will be - as himself, as it stands right now. He doesnt have a named part.
The majority of the filming will take place in Los Angeles and the surrounding area, with the final week of filming taking place in New Jersey. Extras may be needed!! So keep your ears open for casting calls!!
Adrian Fulle is the director of the film. Jeff Anderson (who played Randal in Clerks) wrote and is producing the film. They aren't letting the script leak out. Basically, they dont want you to know till it's done.
The budget for the film is estimated at 15 million.
No real big news will be released about the film till February or March of 2001!! WOW!! Since I live in NJ, I hope to make an appearance :o)
I will update everyone on this movie deal once I get more info!
And last: Those of you that could not make it to the College/Arena shows, do not fret: The AWESOME poster that was only available at the shows at that time is NOW AVAILABLE AT 123POSTERS.COM!!! So if you don't already have one, go and buy one! They're really cheap, too!!
Next: ROB IS ON THE COVER OF THE NOVEMBER 2000 ISSUE OF PERFORMING SONGWRITER!! Also on the cover is Dar Williams and John Hiatt. The article starts on page 54 w/ a two-page picture of the group. The article also has a picture of Rob in the studop and a picture of Rob while filming "Smooth" (Both on page 56.) THere is also a picture of the band on page 57, and on page 58, there is a picture of Rob performing during a concert and a picture of the band in a car. Also, there are more pictures on the very first page (the other side of the cover)and two pictures on page 2. And lastly, there is a picture of Rob w/ Matt Serletic on page 47 b/c Matt Serletic is featured in the "Producer's Corner" of this issue.
I hope to have the pictures and the article up as soon as possible! Please be patient! :o)
And lastly, I received my FanClub package yesterday, Saturday, November 18. So I guess I was wrong about the packages coming at the end of next week...they came faster!...I hope all of you that are in the fan club like the package, I sure do :o)
Also, my new computer is now up! So I hope to finish the Tabitha's Secret part of the site soon! (I don't know exactly when, so I'm saying soon :o)~
Now, some bad news: my computer is WAYYYY WAY WAY old, and therefore, I do not know why, but it will not let me sign on...and when it does, it immediately freezes...WHICH MEANS that I can't work on the site until I get my new computer. The good news of the situation is that my new computer should be here by Friday and installed by Tuesday, so the wait is not that long. (Right now, I'm on the laptop, but I can't do much on it, so I will resume working once the new comp is up.)
One little thing: I made this KICK-ASS poster at makesigns.com...Now, I'm not advertising for them in any way, I'm only telling you about them because you can MAKE YOUR OWN MB20 POSTER! I took pictures of the band as a whole from my site, and put them into a collage on PowerPoint...then I uploaded it onto the Makesigns.com site, and voila! I had an awesome 16x24(you can get bigger) glossy poster!! And I got it today and it looks really awesome...I'm going to make another one!! It's great for making pictures of the band that you don't have up (I used mainly pictures that I don't have in my room...Ones that I only have on my site!) So if you guys want to make a poster of your own, feel free to use any of the pix from my site!! sorry this is sooo long! :o)
Also, I don't know if I already said this, but there is new clothing to be bought at the Merchandise section.
Also, My VH1 Awards airs November 30 and MB20 is nominated in 2 categories...They can win if YOU vote...you can vote by clicking on the link I have up on the main page! Your vote DOES count in this awards show!
Last, I put up the People magazine article/interview w/ Rob. I also put up new pictures under Rob pics, Band pics, and Scanned pics, so go check them out!
The article w/ Paul from Modern Drummer is now up, and so are the pictures from that article.
I hope to have the People article as well as the pictures from that article up ASAP.
The articles from RollingStone and InStyle are now up. Go check them out.
I have updated My Scanned Pics, Paul Pics, and Rob Pics, so go take a look :o)
Also, in the December issue Modern Drummer, there is an article/interview and picture of Paul. Once I get these magazines, I will type up the articles and scan the pictures!
