Look, I'm actually updating, after about nine months of absence!!! Well, I've pretty much abandoned the site, and that's why I haven't updated in all this time. I still love System of a Down, but I grew tired of this site and I'm too lazy and uninspired to remake it or update it. Who knows what the future holds though... Also, be sure to check out the band if they come to your town on their current tour. I just saw them a few days ago and it was a hell of a show! Last but not least, check out the banner at the bottom of this page or click here for info about Snot's upcoming live album (I get free goodies for posting that banner)!

Dog Fashion Disco has been confirmed as System of a Down's main support for at least the first three dates in their upcoming headlining tour. Check out the Tour section for dates.

10.28.01
Dog Fashion Disco's manager recently posted the following on the band's official website: DFD with SOAD - more details soon... I don't mean to start any false rumors, but could DFD be opening for System's upcoming headlining tour? This would, however, intervene with DFD's current tour with Primer 55, Reveille, and Darwin's Waiting Room, so it's anyone's guess.

10.26.01
Bryce Jordan Ctr. in St. College, PA (Nov. 2) has just been added as the last stop on the Pledge of Allegiance Tour, while three more dates have been announced for System's upcoming headlining tour. They are as follows:
November 06th Norfolk, VA - The Boathouse
November 07th N. Myrtle Beach, SC - The Tabernacle
November 08th Atlanta, GA - Tabernacle

In other news, Toxicity has now shipped platinum in the U.S. and it seems likely that the track Toxicity will be released as the second single from the album, though this has not yet been confirmed.

10.13.01
System Of A Down have officially postponed their forthcoming European tour, for which Dog Fashion Disco was tentatively set to open, until sometime early next year. The official statement given on the Tour section of their official website www.systemofadown.com, is as follows: "Due to political unrest, the European tour has been postponed until the new year."

09.28.01
System Of A Down have announced the dates for their upcoming U.K. tour, they are as follows:
November 22nd Manchester - Academy
November 23rd Birmingham - Academy
November 25th London - Brixton Academy
November 26th Nottingham - Rock City
November 27th Glasgow - Barrowlands
Support acts are expected to be announced shortly. In the meantime, the band will be releasing a CD single for the track "Chop Suey!" in the U.K. on October 15th through Columbia. For now, the video for the song can currently be seen on the bands official website www.systemofadown.com.

09.27.01
The dates for the Pledge of Allegiance Tour, co-headlined by System of a Down and Slipknot have been changed for what should be the last time. You can see the complete list of dates on the Tour section.

09.20.01
System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian's recent "controversial" comments on the terrorist attacks in America, which were quickly pulled from the bands official website www.systemofadown.com shortly after being posted (but can be found here), have found their way to shock rock DJ Howard Stern, who has since went onto verbally degrade the band on air. As a result, Serj himself is expected to call into the show, tomorrow morning at around 4:30 PST / 7:30 EST to discuss the matter with Stern on air.

System's drummer John Dolmayan recently expressed his thoughts on the tragic events which took place in America. This is what he had to say:

"A tremendous catastrophe occurred on Tuesday, September 11 and although we may not fully understand the sense of helplessness felt by the families of the deceased, our lives have been greatly affected. While injustice exists in the world this in no way excuses, condones or diminishes the horror experienced in New York. This was obviously the end result of fanatic frustration, but the important fact remains: thousands of mothers, fathers, daughters and sons were taken from their families in a senseless act of brutality. No political rhetoric or talk of vengeance will bring them back. In this time of mourning, we must band together to show our compassion and respect for the families, who at this moment, live in a world of disbelief, shock and loss. Their pain is what we in a humanitarian act need to focus our energy on. In the hopes of rising from this tragedy stronger and more understanding of each other, we must open our hearts in an attempt to douse the fires of vengeance and murder. Please focus your energy towards positive thoughts and love. John Dolmayan System Of A Down"

I have put up the transcript of the recent response Serj wrote about Tuesday's attacks on the WTC and Pentagon. Click here to read it.

System Of A Down debuted in the #1 position on this week's album sales chart. New numbers were released on Thursday, following the announcement of incomplete data on Wednesday. System Of A Down sold over 220,000 copies of "Toxicity" in its first week of release.

In light of the recent tragic events, the Pledge Of Allegiance Tour, set to feature System Of A Down, Slipknot, Rammstein and Mudvayne, along with rotating slots from American Head Charge and No One, has had numerous of its first few dates postponed and will now kick off on September 21st in Denver, CO. The replacement shows for the postponed dates will be announced shortly. For now, the St. Paul, MN stop of the tour, which was originally set to take place this Saturday, has now been switched to take place at the Xcel Energy Center on October 11th. The tour section has been updated accordingly.

09.11.01
Apparently, System of a Down was scheduled to appear on Conan O'Brien tonight. This probably won't be happening in light of today's tragic events. No word yet if their appearance has been rescheduled, but I will try to find out the info (if anyone knows anything, let me know). It will be interesting to see their views on these events.

- System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian has now released a statement on the riot of sorts which took place at what was set to be their free show in Hollywood, CA yesterday, September 03rd. Click here to read it.

- A free show by System Of A Down which was set to take place yesterday, September 03rd in Hollywood, CA erupted into a riot when it was canceled at the last minute. Apparently, the show which was scheduled to take place in a parking lot across from Club Vynyl on Schrader and Hollywood Boulevard, was forced to be shut down when way too many fans showed up, prompting the authorities to pull the plug before the band were even able to take the stage, though it is rumored that the proper permits weren't obtained for the show to even take place. This abrupt cancelation didn't sit well with the thousands of fans who were in attendance and as the bands banner was being removed from the stage, signifying they wouldn't be playing, the crowd erupted and barricades were overrun as audience members took to the stage, scrapping with security and trashing various equipment including soundboards, the stage, the bands drumkit and stacks of speakers. The mayhem continued and became well out of hand, prompting a riot gear adorned squadron of the L.A.P.D.'s finest and a number of horse mounted police officers to be called in, in an effort to control and disperse the unruly mob. Rubber bullets, tear gas and batons were said to be used to quell the throngs of fans, with the area eventually being cleared. In total, the band lost around $30,000 worth of equipment, either in damages or to theft, including the bulk of the their touring equipment. Fortunately, the whole situation is also somewhat ironic, as a track entitled "Deer Dance" from the bands new album "Toxicity", which is due out in stores tomorrow, September 04th, features the following lyric: "battalions of riot police with rubber bullet kisses, baton courtesy, service with a smile".

- Just a reminder that System of a Down's new album, Toxicity, is out today so make sure you get your copy if you haven't already. I will put up lyrics for the album soon...
