EXCLUSIVE!!!  Unedited interview with Dennis Shinn the lead singer for THE DRUG and former Drummer for Sex Art!!!

I have been in contact with Dennis for awhile now and it is nice to see that someone takes the time to talk to fans and answer questions.  This guy cares about his fans still even after all of these years.  Thanks again to Dennis for taking the time to talk with me!  I had a lot of conversations with him and had a lot of questions answered.  I will not disclose everything because of personal discussion, but here are some facts I know you have all been dying to find out!  Enjoy!

Roger, I copied your questions, pasted it into a reply message, with the answers attached next to your questions.
Thanks my friend. Your interests, and love for what we all do in music, or did, it means a lot to me :)

Questions fans want answered:

When is the expected release date of the SexArt DVD?

( Menace ) The release date is still a little ways away.
It will be 2010 for sure.
But the official release has not yet been talked about, due to politics, and post production budgets. Even though I own all the content that was ever produced by Sex Art, it still needs to be put together in a proper format for both dvd, and single video downloads for anybody who just wants 1 song with a video attached, for their iPods, phones or what not.

Will you be releasing a CD of all the SexArt demos ever recorded? (People really want to hear this stuff!)

( Menace ) The format on how Sex Art will be released is in 2 ways.
1st is a full length dvd of coarse.
Featuring 6 live shows, 3 recording sessions, 2 rehearsals with the group, hanging out with Sex Art, 11 songs that was captured in some form of recording. And modern day interviews on video from each member, reflecting back on the days of Sex Art, and how we all got our start.
2nd is the individual song single video's.
This will be fast cuts of the live shows, and making it into a music video for each song as a single. That way, you can go to iTunes, and just buy a single video for your iPods if that's all you may want. Each video will be different for each song.
And the videos will not be a part of the actual dvd.
And it will be the only way that you can have any song single for the iPods as well.

Was the SexArt break-up mutual when Jonathan left? Or was it a shock to everyone? How did it happen?

( Menace ) To be completely honest, this is exactly how it happened.
Sex Art was just starting to pick up momentum, local buzz, and local radio support.
Winning the local Battle Of The Bands, and starting to pick up on the crowd attendance. This is when the guys form Korn / Creep / L.A.P.D, "David, James, and Brian" walked into a place we we're playing live. And heard Jonathan for the 1st time. Of coarse they needed a singer, and they approached Jon after our show. Jonathan told me about this, and he also said he didn't want to leave Sex Art. But we were having a lot of problems with Ryan at that time. Meaning: Ryan was going through radical behavior mood swings from the constant using of speed. He was very difficult to be around, or even work with. So Jonathan point blank told me that if Ryan wasn't kicked out, then he was leaving to join with the guys in Creep. So our very last show we played, as soon as the show ended, I told Ryan he was out. As I walked outside to tell Jon the news that we won battle of the bands, and the Ryan was out of Sex Art, I just found out that Jon had just left. He had already jumped into a car and was off to join the other band. This was minutes after the last show. So I never had the chance to tell him I followed through with his request.
So for the next few months, myself, Dave, and Ray kept rehearsing. And I would travel south from Bakersfield to Huntington Beach to visit Jonathan, and be supportive of his new band. As far as I know, Dave and myself were the only two members who stayed in contact with Jon, and was supportive to him.
As time went by, Ryan was still around, and I joined with him on a side band titled "PINK THING". Despite his radical mood swings, Ryan did have a good side. And he was my best friend, so of coarse I had to deal with his moods. But their were times it got way out of hand with him. And he is the exact reason why Jonathan had left Sex Art. Meaning: Jonathan's final decision maker was because of Ryan, and his behavior.

I hope you all enjoyed these answers as it cleared up a lot for me.  Thanks again to Dennis and I wish you nothing but the best in the future with THE DRUG and beyond!
