British songwriter Herbie Crichlow who penned the Backstreet Boys hits Quit Playing Games With My Heart and Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely claims he's owed around $3 million by the band's record company, Jive Records.
Crichlow, who currently lives in Sweden, used to work alongside Max Martin at his Cheiron production company. However, since falling out with Martin, Crichlow claims that he is yet to be paid for any of his work and that he has been banned from having any songs including on the Backstreet Boys latest album Black & Blue. Crichlow also says that when he asked Martin for his money their relationship 'soured', according to a journalist for Fox News.
Max Martin last year shut down Cheiron and opened a new production company named Merlin Productions. Fox's reporter claims that the reason for Cheiron's closure was that the widow of Martin's deceased partner Dag 'Denniz' Pop owned 50% of the company and Martin did not wish to split the money with her.
