Ok. Its Sunday, Jan 28, we're in sunny Tampa, Florida and we're getting ready to rock at Nick BSB's 21st bd party. Not bad, eh?! To set the scene, we'd flown over from England a couple of days earlier to meet up with the lads backstage at one of the first dates of their new huge world tour, in Atlanta Georgia (more next ish!). But Nick was so happy to see us, that he invited the Hits to fly with them to his hometown of Tampa for his bd party. But this was to be no ordinary flight...oh no! Not only did we get to travel on the BSB private jet - where, at the stroke of midnight, the whole plane burst into the bd song- but we were also given a flash police escort ot of the venue and to the airport! But the day wasn't only special because of Nicks bday, as the guys were given the ultimate honour of singing their National Anthem live at the Superbowl - American Football's biggest event of the year! (Just think FA Cup!) The party didn't start til 10pm so everyone had a chance to get back from the match, but by the time we got to the door, there were hundreds of people clamouring for the chance to party with the prince of pop, but of course this do was strictly invite only! Nick had hired the VIP room of his fave local club FUN for the night and the party wasn't a glitzy showbiz do, but more a real celebration with all his closest friends and family. Awww! It was also a special night for him in more ways then one, as he got the brilliant rock band he's managing to perform for the first time for his nearest and dearest. But Nick just didn't leave 'em to it, he bounded up on stage to give them the intro of their life, and they in return got everyone in the club to sing him a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday halfway through their set. There were more than a few tears in eyes before that was over, let us tell you! Mid party Nick was presented with a huge surprise cake which was subtly decorated with, ahem, laydees naughty bits! And for those who didn't fancy a whopping big slice of cake, there were dainty fairy cakes provided, also featuring boys and girls bits - how rude - but very funny! They tasted nice too! It wasn't long of course before a food fight broke out and creamy white gateaux ended up everywhere! it was especially chucklesome watching Mr Carter and a long line of mates being escorted to the gents for a clean-up! The rest of the clubbers didn't have a clue what was going on! Just as the party was in full swing, there was an unexpected appearance by N***c! While the boys hadn't actually been invited by the birthday boy, they had in fact booked themselves aprivate table by pure coincidence, they were soon joining in the fun with the rest of the Street - Brian was the only one who wasn't there, as he had family visiting - and wished Nick all the best. As the clock struck a reasonable 3am the last we saw of Nick was him proudly rounding up his posse of best mates, bundling them all out onto a waiting bus and heading off back to his house... "hey it's my birthday!" he yells, as he bounds up the bus steps. "I'm legal now, I'm gonna be o the road for the next 10 months, I've gotta make the most of this night!" We couldn't agree with you more, matey!
