I have to inform everyone thinking about buying a TAHOE BOAT from Bass Pro Shops. There are Hundreds of discussions about how people like me bought a boat at Bass Pro, Had a Problem, and went through Hell getting it fixed. Below is my Story.
Mar 2006— Came back from Iraq with decided I was going to enjoy my hard earned money by buying a brand new boat. I bought the Tahoe Q6 S/F on the showroom for just over $26,000. Mar—May 2006– Boat runs fine boat won’t shut off! Took it back to BPS twice (A 20 mile drag). Finally took it to a local Marine garage. 10 Minute Carb adjustment and problem solved. Summer-Fall 2006—No Problems whatsoever!!! Yeah…. Winter 2007—18 Dec 2006 – Took boat in for Winter service and to have following items fixed under warranty. 1. Cracks next to ladder 2. Cracks on built in cooler 3. Cracks on bow floor 4. Cracks on starboard side behind rear seat Gel Coat Peeled off bottom of boat (never fixed) Boat was moved into storage and after sitting their waiting service for 3 months the engine froze and cracked the exhaust! BPS says I’m supposed to winterize before having serviced. Hello! Isn’t that part of the $300 service? Anyway ended up splitting the cost of the repair and had to pay $600 for what was going to be an oil change. OK bad experience everything will be great from now on. WRONG Summer 2007– Got the boat back in Mar 2007. Used it regularly without problems. Aug 2007—What’s with all this water? The past few trips I’ve been running the bilge quite a bit. Maybe it’s just from people getting in and out? Installed auto bilge switch just in case. Winter 2008- Never found problem and still have to run bilge. I sealed every possible area water may enter boat. OKAY Let’s go fishing. On 16 Feb 2008- Found why I’m always taking on water. There is a hole in the boat! I called Bass Pro to tell them what I found. They immediately took the boat that day.
22 Feb 2008 – I called Bass Pro and they said they will have to remove the Fuel Tank to determine what is causing the problem. I’ll call back on Monday.
23 Feb 2008 – Visited the boat today. It is in front of the maintenance bays. Looks like it’ll be next to get into the shop. 26 Feb – Received copy of email sent to Tracker Marine
29 Feb – Emailed Bass Pro to ensure they pass along internal failure to Tracker Marine.
4 Apr 2008—Boat was picked up by the factory for hull repair. That only took 6 weeks to start the process. And a consumer complaint, and member ship to Boat U.S., and constant calling by me. May 2008– Middle of May Tracker calls me and says boat is done. May take two weeks to return. Great I guess I’ll lose another Holiday at the lake. The Communication chain is Horrible at Tracker. Warranty has to talk to repairs, Local BPS has to email warranty. If I want any info I have to call/email and wait for a response. Never any direct answers. I still don’t have my repaired boat back. So I have owned it 26 Months and It’s been in BPS for repairs going on 8 of those months. I definitely don’t recommend buying a boat from Bass Pro Shop. Especially the Tahoe Lineup! |
