the three names listed on the front. The information is MANDATORY for the RIDER, OWNER and TRAINER of the horse being entered.

New is the information and signature of your COACH on the show grounds. If you do not have a coach, you do not need to supply a name or have a signature.

Sometimes an adult competitor is the person responsible for the well being of his horse on the showgrounds (trainer), as well as being the owner and rider. In this case, you record all the same information three times in the spaces for Rider, Owner, and Trainer. SIGN YOUR NAME THREE TIMES ON THE CORRESPONDING SIGNATURE LINES on the back of the Entry Blank. Writing "SAME" is NOT acceptable. Some folks make up computer labels with all the appropriate information that they simply paste in place three times. For riders under legal age, parent or guardian signs in the rider's signature space. A parent does not need to be a member of AHSA or USDF.

Remember, the person listed as "trainer" on your entry blank must be the adult who is physically present on the showgrounds responsible for the well being of the horse. It is not the person from whom you have a weekly lesson but it not present during the show and, therefore, cannot be responsible for the well being of your horse.

If anyone is not a member of AHSA, s/he must pay a $15.00, non-AHSA member fee and a $5 breed/discipline fee.  Juniors are exempt from the breed/discipline fee. If your AHSA number is pending or you cannot find your card, you must fill out an AHSA Affidavit stating such, and you will have to pay a $5 fee for an AHSA Affidavit.

Each horse/rider combination is considered an entry and receives a competition number. If the same horse is shown by different riders at

the same show, each horse/rider combination goes on a separate entry blank, with appropriate signatures, but only one drug fee $8.00 ($5 drug fee + $3 office fee).

Horses brought to the showgrounds not entered in the show: You must fill out an Entry Blank with appropriate signatures, pay applicable fees as stated in the Prize List, pay stabling fees, and receive a bridle number. Schooling horses are subject to all AHSA rules in the warm-up arenas.

All horses should have their numbers on their bridle or halter when not in their stalls.

Ride times: The Show Secretary mails you your riding times. However, this listing is done as a courtesy and some scheduling changes may have been necessary at the last minute. ALWAYS check the schedule posted on the showgrounds for the most recent and most accurate listing of your riding times. Although show management supplies clocks and gate stewards at warm-up areas and there is an announcer; it remains the responsibility of the rider to show up for his/her ride on time.

Show Protocol: Please inform the Show Secretary of any scratches as soon as possible. A "no show" is inconsiderate to other competitors, judges, and show management. A pamphlet entitled "Dressage Protocol, Tips for Dressage Competitors," is available from USDF for $2. I highly recommend every competitor order and read this pamphlet thoroughly.

Please take the time and make certain that your Entry Blank is accurate, complete, and legible. This sets a positive tone for the competition.
Have a great show season!
