TDC Minutes

Board Meeting
March  4, 2002
Home of Jennifer Parker

Present were Board members Jennifer Parker, Ellie Stine-Masek, Iréna Callahan, Julie DiNatale, Lynn Boice, and Shelley Rosenberg. Also present were Terri Wayne, Robin Ritter and Anna Calek. Necessarily absent were Holly Small, Michelle Manshardt, and Beth High. President Jennifer Parker called the meeting to order at 7:02P.M.

Minutes: Minutes from the previous meeting were motioned for approval by E. Stine-Masek and L. Boice seconded the motion and it passed with minor correc-tions made by I. Callahan.

Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's report was approved as submitted by L Boice. The organization is in fine financial shape.  E. S.-Masek motioned that 10,000 dollars from the recognized show account be put in a six-month CD and the balance in an interest-bearing checking account. I. Callahan seconded the motion and it passed. L. Boice will do research the CD.

Membership Report: There are 140 paid memberships.

OLD BUSINESS
November Show
1. The finances for the show have been closed.
2. The show made 2,494.50 dollars and contributed 1,000 dollars to TROT.
3. E. S.-Masek read a thank you note from TROT.

Schooling Shows
S. Rosenberg reported the following schedule and requested

assistance in obtaining places for the TDC recognized shows.

The following is the schedule for the schooling shows:   
  Mar 10 Oasis, Sandra Meissner
  April 20 AIM High, J. Parker
  May 4 TDC hosted, Laura  Hooser
  Nov  2 TDC Hosted, Lia Falco

L Judges Program
A. Calek reported the following:
1. The following is a list of possible judges and dates that need to be finalized:
Session A:
J. Ayers, 10/5-6,  Biomechanics
Session B:
A. Steiner, 11/30-12/1 Gaits & Paces
Sessions C:
S. Howard, 2/8-9  Collective Marks
Session D:
M. Ludwig & E. Madlener, March 2003 Practice exam
Session E:
M. Ludwig & M. Barnet  May 2003 Final Exam
2. The deposit is due July 1st.

University Credit Program
There were no updates to the program.

Memorial Sportsmanship Award in Honor of Noel Hansen
1. E. Stine-Masek motioned that the Noel Hansen award be a sportsmanship award. S. Rosen-berg seconded and the motion passed.
2. A donation of $100 was made to Noel's Barn. The Foundation is creating scholarships for kids.
3. R. Ritter reported that she found a champagne bucket with horses in silver for about $200.

The piece requires a pedestal and will serve as the award.
4. The criteria for the award will be as follows:
a. descriptive letter nominating the
individual
b. good sportsmanship
c. Board members will vote for the
nominee; therefore, the Board is
exempt
d. letters postmarked Sept. 15th
e. the award will be given at the
banquet.

Scholarship Committee
A suggestion was made to ask three long-term members to be on the committee. Several names were suggested, such as J. Severson, P. Wagoner, P. Fredericks, J. Johnson and David Quinto.

Website
1. The website is up and func-

4. The monthly payment to Angel
Fire for hosting the website is
$4.95. L. Boice will find out
whether TDC may pay  in 6- or
12-month installments.

Oasis
1. Oasis  owes TDC $150 dollars.
2. There was some concern about quarantine at Oasis. In light of the schooling show being held this weekend, R. Ritter will call the barn, horse-owner and vet to get all the facts. S. Rosenberg will call the State Vet Roger Grant. J. Parker will coordinate the facts and pass on to all interested parties.
