BARN NEWS

The Irbinskas Stables welcomes the arrivals of several new Warmblood foals. Two lovely Dutch Warmblood-cross fillies were named "Verona" and "Valentina." Linda DiPaola has a handsome new Trakhener colt by her mare, Ivey. Last year's twins by E'sops Fable and the Thoroughbred mare "Desert Magic" are getting big. Last year was the "U" year for names by the Dutch Warmblood Association. After some thought, we came up with "Uluru", and for the twins, "U Go Girl" and "User Friendly." Lots of new young horses will be showing up in the ring.

Besides training and showing, Heather remains quite busy with her various other endeavors. Heather has developed

a new horse product for the market called SAFE T STRAP. This device quickly buckles in to turn every halter into a breakaway safety halter. Great for turn outs and foals. It does not interfere with leading and no more broken halters.

Recently the Western National Parks Association commissioned Heather to write a children's book on bats.
Pauli, the Cross-Eyed Pallid Bat should be released in time for Christmas. This story will make a nice addition to her other published books for children, How Jack Rabbit Got His Very Long Ears, and Morgan the Dog.

Congratulations to Melanie Amhowitz on the purchase of her pretty Dutch Warmblood cross Mare "Ruffles." Ruffles is 4 years old, and by E'Sops Fable. Congratulations also to Sue DiMuro on the purchase of "Nepali," a Fourth Level American Quarter Horse. "Nipper," as he is known by, is the nephew of "Mohammed," who Sue showed successfully through Third Level. "Mohammed" was trained and shown to Grand Prix by Heather Irbinskas, and he became the 1996 USDF "Best of America's Horse". At 21 Mo has been retired this year to trail riding. Sue will keep her skills up in preparation for her young Irish/TB cross "Vilnius". Look forward to seeing these new combinations in the show ring and down the trails.
