This semester TDC Dressage University professors will be studying some of the great equestrian authors and developing practical lessons for our students. This literature review will provide exercises which will be presented at the monthly sessions. The intent is for the students to incorporate these exercises into their daily homework.
According to Beth High, Dean of Students, the new course Equestrian Literature 101 will encourage students to read the works of the masters and to discuss their newfound knowledge with our outstanding faculty as well as other students. Beth states, "In my

humble opinion, the pursuit of excellence in dressage must include a steady diet of theoretical study to supplement the physical practice."
The first lesson of 2002 will feature two exercises that can be found in Major Anders Lindgren's book, Teaching Exercises: A Manual for Instructors and Riders (The Masters of horsemanship Series, Bk. 3). Those students wishing to review the material prior to the session should focus on First Level patters 3 and 6, pages 26-32. Any student who does not have access to the book can review the pages by contacting Dean High at 404-8144.
