Rancho Del Corazon

Heather Montierth was absent from the May TDC Show because she was graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in Finance. Heather will be back in the show ring this fall in the AA division with her thoroughbred, Chrome Wheels. She has been helping Julie DiNatalie keep her horse, Shane, exercised since Julie is pregnant and due in October. Leanne Ragel and Heather were midwives to Heather's mare, Pam, who delivered a bay filly, Diva, by the Hannoverian Damiro, in late April. Leanne attended class at Pima College with Mike Conaway to learn about foaling and to prepare for raising a baby.

Kathleen Gayle has a new horse that Sheila Strickler found in a backyard in Catalina. "Potter" is a half Arab/half Dutch, by Aesop's Fable and is a wonderful trail horse. Finally, Kathleen can safely accompany her husband, Ernie, on trail rides in the monument. Kathleen and Potter have already successfully attempted the show ring at Intro Level at the schooling show at La Mariposa in July!

Rachel Tanenbaum traveled to the Parelli International Study Center(ISC) in Pagosa Springs, Colorado for a week long course in June. She rode her thoroughbred mare, Nina, in a Parelli Level 2 course, working on Harmony. While Rachel was at summer camp her husband, Adam, took care of their little girls (ages 1 and 4) without incident. We all have been eating and breathing a lot of dust this spring so if we have to cancel lessons this summer because of the monsoons, HURRAY! Let it rain!!

Pat Baker-Hutter Training at an oasis

The ADA show in Flagstaff was great fun. We all enjoyed leaving the high temperatures behind and heading to the mountains. Doris Leacy and Poverty Joe Jack; Nichole Boost and Ol' Amie; Debbie Heidenheim and Sierra; Anne Gilmartin and Easy; Janis Sollenbarger and Monte Piethon; and Maxx and I all made the trip. Good rides by all, and we enjoyed the judges' helpful comments. Competitors close to our tack area also met (heard) my puppy for the first time. She was not happy when I left the area; sorry to those whose ears are still ringing. We are looking forward to the Prescott show in August and hope it will be a great success. See you there!
