Lance Armstrong is one of the greatest athletes in the history of sports. Even before his cancer Lance was an incredible athlete, he became the national and world champion road racer in the same year. He was at the top of his game when in 1996 he was diagnosed with malignant testicular cancer. The prognosis was very bad; the cancer had spread all the way to his brain. But Lance survived and made probably the greatest comeback in sports history.
Le Tour De France or The Tour Of France is the hardest bike race in the world. Athletes have to ride for a month with only three rest days. Lance made his comeback here, when in 1999 Lance won his first tour, only three years after being diagnosed with cancer. Then in 2000 he won again and 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004. Lance did what no other cyclist in the history of the sport has done, he won 6 consecutive Tour de Frances. His amazing ability to win against adversity makes Lance one of the greatest sports figures ever.
