The Arcane Stronghold

The Mission Statement of the Arcane Stronghold:

Azeroth is a world torn by war. Three wars in recent history have changed the face of this world. First, the orcs came to take over, and were fended off by the humans of the kingdom or Stormwind. Second, not long after the first war, the orcs struck at Lordaeron, and were again pushed back. Finally, the Burning Legion rose to conquer the world of Azeroth where their orc minions had failed, only to find themselves far more defeated than they could have imagined.

For now, Azeroth enjoys a disquieting and momentary peace. For the funny thing about peace in Azeroth, as all of its denizens have now come to understand, is that all too often it exists only as a transitional period between wars. Indeed, war seems almost an inevitability in Azeroth. However, nothing is completely preventable.

In order to prevent further war, the inhabitants of this world must learn from their mistakes. To this end, the Arcane Stronghold, an organization of explorerers, scribes, and loremasters, has compiled this library. Contained within are transcriptions and translations of various volumes of Azerothian history found scattered throughout the world. For you see, those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.
