On one side of the rushing river,
Stood Running Bear brave and strong.
On the other side of the rushing river,
Stood a lovely Indian maid.
Her name was Little White Dove,
She was lovely to see,
But their tribes fought one another,
So their love could never be!
Oh Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love as big as the sky!
Oh, Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that never dies!
Running Bear dove into the water,
Little White Dove did the same.
And they swam towards one another
Through the rushing river waves.
As their eyes met,
And their lips touched,
The rushing river pulled them down.
Now they'll always be together,
In the happy hunting ground!
Oh Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love as big as the sky!
Oh, Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that never dies!
